Job description
The Head of Co-Branded Cards at Careem is responsible for building, owning, and scaling the company’s co-branded card offerings in alignment with its Fintech ambitions. This high-impact role spans the end-to-end lifecycle of the card program—from concept, launch, and scaling to performance optimization. The position involves managing the P&L, leading internal cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Marketing, Legal, Compliance, Finance), and interfacing with external partners including issuing banks, networks, and processors. The role emphasizes innovation in loyalty and rewards, driving user engagement through merchant partnerships and integration with the Careem Super App. Responsibilities include program strategy and execution, defining go-to-market plans, optimizing customer acquisition, activation, and retention, and continuously improving products and partnerships based on analytics and KPIs. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in cards, payments, and fintech, with strong business acumen, analytical skills, and an entrepreneurial mindset suited to a dynamic and multi-market environment.

Key responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of the co-branded card program from concept to scale
- Act as P&L owner accountable for growth, customer experience, and financial performance
- Serve as primary interface with issuing banks, schemes, processors, and vendors
- Lead cross-functional execution across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Legal, Finance, and Compliance
- Design and implement rewards and benefits integrating loyalty engines and lifestyle partnerships
- Source and manage merchant offers to increase everyday engagement
- Collaborate with Core Product and Loyalty teams to embed features in the Super App
- Lead go-to-market planning and execution for program launch and growth
- Define and monitor KPIs for acquisition, activation, usage, and retention
- Establish feedback loops and performance reviews for ongoing optimization
Experience & skills
- 8–10 years of experience in cards, payments, fintech, or program/project leadership
- Deep understanding of card ecosystem including issuing, processing, and scheme economics
- Proven experience owning a P&L in a product-led growth environment
- Track record of launching and scaling financial products with rewards or loyalty elements
- Strong cross-functional leadership and project management skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Analytical and strategic thinker with a bias for action
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field; MBA is a plus
- Experience in UAE or GCC fintech/payments/tech landscape preferred
- Familiarity with card issuing platforms, loyalty models, and embedded finance ecosystems
