Job description
The Legal Director will oversee all legal matters related to the organization’s real estate and development operations, including property transactions, acquisitions, leasing, and hospitality law. The role requires leadership in legal strategy, contract management, and compliance with Saudi and GCC regulations. The Legal Director will collaborate with executives, municipalities, regulatory bodies, and external counsel to align legal approaches with business objectives, ensuring risk mitigation and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include managing legal due diligence, drafting and negotiating key contracts, monitoring changes in real estate and hospitality laws, overseeing legal budgets, and advising senior management on legal risks and opportunities.

Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain legal policies and procedures for real estate, development projects, acquisitions, leasing, and hospitality operations
- Advise on legal aspects of property transactions including acquisitions, disposals, development agreements, joint ventures, and leasing structures
- Collaborate with executives, municipalities, regulatory bodies, and external counsel to ensure legal compliance and business alignment
- Lead legal due diligence for real estate purchases, sales, and development deals
- Negotiate, draft, and review contracts including sale and purchase agreements, lease agreements, development agreements, build to suit agreements, and hotel management and franchise agreements
- Monitor changes in property, planning, and hospitality-related regulations and laws
- Provide proactive legal guidance to mitigate risk and ensure compliance
- Manage relationships with external legal advisors, consultants, and industry bodies
- Ensure all legal matters are conducted ethically and in compliance with KSA laws and regulations
- Oversee legal budgets and ensure cost-effective delivery of legal services
- Report on legal strategies, risks, and opportunities to senior management
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Law or related field; admitted to practice in a relevant jurisdiction
- Minimum 10 years of legal experience in real estate law, hospitality, property development, sales, acquisitions, and leasing
- Proven track record in KSA and/or GCC advising on complex real estate and development transactions
- Strong understanding of planning, zoning, land use regulations, and commercial lease structures
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
- Arabic speaker preferred
