The Senior Relationship Manager – Liabilities role at First Abu Dhabi Bank, based in One FAB Tower in Abu Dhabi, sits within Commercial Banking under the Personal, Business, Wealth and Privileged Client Banking Group. The role is responsible for managing and growing a high-value liabilities portfolio by acquiring new-to-bank high-value clients and enhancing existing relationships to increase the bank’s liability book and revenue. The position focuses on deep client engagement to understand banking requirements, increase wallet share, and cross-sell and upsell the bank’s products and services, including Global Markets and Cash products, while structuring and negotiating pricing aligned with customer needs and internal frameworks. The role involves active sourcing of business, following up on sales leads, coordinating with product managers and specialists, and planning client visits to introduce GTB and GM partners. Strong emphasis is placed on risk management through timely KYC updates, preparation and renewal of Credit Applications in line with bank policies and regulatory frameworks, financial statement analysis, creditworthiness assessment, early warning signal detection, past-due loan collection, and proactive portfolio risk management. The role requires close collaboration with internal departments to manage compliance, operational, credit, and money laundering risks, as well as cooperation with internal audit and risk management functions. Profitability responsibilities include effective utilization of limits, continuous margin improvement, and regular monitoring of MIS reports for FX and Trade revenues using the EDW Dashboard. The position also ensures high-quality customer service, adherence to operational processes, strict compliance with bank policies, and avoidance of fraud and operational risks while supporting FAB’s inclusive, high-performance banking environment.

Key responsibilities
- Acquire new-to-bank high-value clients and enhance existing high-value relationships to grow the bank’s liabilities portfolio and revenue base
- Engage closely with clients to understand banking requirements, improve service delivery, and increase wallet share across products and services
- Cross-sell and upsell the bank’s products and services to maximize revenue and increase market share in target segments
- Negotiate internally and structure pricing for Global Markets and Cash products in line with customer needs and bank frameworks
- Actively source new business opportunities, follow up on sales leads, and plan regular client visits including introductions to GTB and GM partners
- Coordinate with product managers and specialists to promote and deliver the bank’s products and services
- Ensure timely updating of KYC documentation and compliance with all regulatory and internal policy requirements
- Prepare Credit Applications, analyze financial statements, and ensure accurate submission and renewal in accordance with bank policies and regulatory frameworks
- Assess financial, business, and credit risks, identify early warning signals, recommend appropriate credit limits, and manage past-due loan collections
- Proactively manage portfolio risk through timely renewals and adherence to approved limits and pricing standards
- Monitor FX and Trade revenues through MIS reports and EDW Dashboard to enhance profitability and utilization of limits
- Maintain high-quality customer service standards, coordinate with operations and processing units, and ensure strict adherence to bank policies to mitigate fraud and operational risks
Experience & skills
- Hold a recognized University Degree; a postgraduate qualification in Business Management or Business Administration is considered an advantage
- Demonstrate proven experience in relationship management within commercial or business banking, particularly in liabilities-focused roles
- Possess strong knowledge of general and business banking products, including SME propositions and competitive market offerings
- Show experience in acquiring high-value clients and managing existing portfolios to drive revenue growth and market share
- Demonstrate experience in credit application preparation, financial statement analysis, credit risk assessment, and creditworthiness evaluation
- Have a strong understanding of compliance, KYC, anti-money laundering requirements, and bank regulatory frameworks
- Demonstrate ability to manage portfolio risk, including renewals, early warning signal identification, and past-due loan management
- Show experience in pricing and structuring banking products in line with internal policies and customer requirements
- Demonstrate capability in monitoring profitability through MIS, FX, and Trade revenue reporting tools
- Exhibit the ability to work effectively with internal audit, risk management, and operational teams to address gaps and audit findings
