Job description
Installation sites for high voltage gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) are where this supervisor spends the working week, representing Hitachi Energy's PGHV business in front of the client. Switching systems have to be installed, repaired and cleared of faults on schedule, with the cost-performance ratio kept in view throughout. Much of the work is independent, from installation and maintenance to inspecting arriving material for completeness and damage and raising non-conformance reports where equipment within PG scope is missing or damaged. Sub-supplier installation superintendents rely on your advice to plan and coordinate their workforce against the programme. Safety rules are strict, especially the guidelines for work on live system components. Loop check activities, final installation and commissioning tests, and red-mark drawings all fall under your supervision, as does PG completion documentation. The PG Project Manager depends on you for an accurate picture of completed and outstanding work. A bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering is required, and 2 to 5 years with GIS, SF6 GAS-Handling experience and MS Project skills are preferred.
