Job description
Data centre growth means new greenfield builds and upgrades to live brownfield sites, and this Abu Dhabi senior manager takes MEP delivery on both from concept to commissioning and close out. Projects range from small facilities to mega-scale data centres, often with multiple workstreams and demanding stakeholders. MEP concepts and design sit at the core, including HVAC, public health engineering and current data centre MEP architecture. Technical bid documents are produced here, followed by techno commercial evaluation, recommendations and contract finalisation. During construction, consultants, contractors, specialist vendors and AHJ representatives across MEP, C&A, PHE and DC fit out are coordinated closely. Running bills, invoices and close out settlements need your verification and approval. Existing telecom and data centre facilities also get support, with FM teams relying on you for technical solutions and sustainable options that cut energy use and carbon footprint. Data centre assessments against industry standards and feasibility analyses feed decisions by higher management. Expect to bring 15+ years of experience, a BE and MBA, and credentials such as ATS Uptime, ASA Uptime, MASHRAE or MBICSI.

Key responsibilities
- Manage multidiscipline technical projects across greenfield and brownfield sites
- Advise on developing small, medium and mega-scale data centres from concept to commissioning and close out (C2C)
- Design MEP systems, including HVAC and public health engineering
- Provide SME support on national and multinational end-user compliance requirements for data centre colocation
- Conduct feasibility analyses and qualitative and quantitative technical analysis to support decisions
- Produce technical bid documents and deliver techno commercial evaluations and recommendations
- Finalise contract technical documentation and project close out documentation
- Lead high-profile projects involving multiple workstreams and varied stakeholders
- Support internal FM teams in overcoming operational challenges at telecom and data centre facilities
- Approve running bills, invoices and close out settlements for projects
- Develop sustainable solutions that reduce carbon footprint and improve indoor environment quality
- Recommend efficient and reliable infrastructure technology for data centres
- Perform data centre assessments and technical evaluations against industry standards
- Coordinate consultants, contractors, specialist vendors, suppliers and AHJ representatives across MEP, C&A, PHE and DC fit out
- Organize multilevel progress meetings to clear blockers through design and construction phases
- Report progress and resolutions to higher management
- Oversee the full implementation of medium, large and complex projects
Experience & skills
- Bring 15+ years of experience
- Hold a BE and an MBA
- Possess credentials such as ATS Uptime, ASA Uptime, MASHRAE or MBICSI
- Demonstrate technical project management expertise on data centre and telecom facilities
- Show strong technical tendering, evaluation and negotiation skills
- Apply budgeting and cost control across projects
- Manage contractor and supplier relationships effectively
- Use statistical reporting and analysis to support decisions
- Understand telecom and data centre engineering, including system design, development and implementation
