Job description
AESG works across Building Engineering, Planning and Infrastructure, Strategy and Advisory, and Commissioning, Handover and Asset Management from offices spanning London, Riyadh, Singapore, Dubai, Cape Town, Cairo, and Sydney. This Senior Commissioning Engineer role sits within the Riyadh commissioning team, acting as the technical authority in the electrical discipline and a leader within the group. You will independently conduct site inspections, review design information, tolerances, and agreed methods of working, and assess whether test procedures and recorded results demonstrate compliance with project specifications and industry codes of practice. Reviewing project documentation for compliance falls under the role too, alongside reporting issues to senior team members in a clear, accurate, and concise manner. Liaising with contractors' commissioning teams happens regularly, as does carrying out site observations on installation quality and producing documentation such as Site Observation Reports to a high standard. Installation, submittals, and the use of engineering tools all get monitored against project and commissioning guidelines. Mentoring and training colleagues sits alongside tracking task completion, preparing lookaheads, and keeping a daily diary of site events, systems inspected, and decisions made by authorities on site. Commissionability design reviews round out the scope, with detailed, high-quality documentation expected whenever recommendations are requested.
