Job description
The Team Leader - Civil at Serco Dubai Airports is responsible for the efficient and effective maintenance of all civil, MEP, utilities, and airfield assets within a designated area during a specified shift. The role emphasizes adherence to health, safety, and welfare standards, ensuring high operating reliability and safety. The Team Leader plans, organizes, and supervises daily shift activities including work allocation, materials management, mobilization, and productivity monitoring. The role requires providing technical support and specialist advice for fault-finding, repair, and preventive maintenance of plant, systems, and equipment. Reporting, CMMS work order management, shift handovers, and compliance with operational procedures are critical responsibilities. The Team Leader also acts as a role model, promoting a 'get it right first time every time' culture, delivering toolbox talks and job briefings, and fostering a team environment that upholds quality, safety, and efficiency. Familiarity with civil assets in buildings and building envelopes, MEP systems, utility networks, airfield infrastructure, roads, pavements, and lighting systems is essential.

Key responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team to ensure efficient and effective maintenance of civil, MEP, utilities, and airfield assets during the shift
- Plan and allocate work, manage materials, ensure safety compliance, and coordinate mobilization to maximize team productivity
- Provide specialist technical support and advice in fault-finding, troubleshooting, and repair of plant, systems, and equipment
- Monitor and enforce compliance with all general and technical safety requirements to ensure health, safety, and welfare of self and team
- Prepare various reports, manage CMMS work orders, and ensure accurate documentation, shift handovers, and logbooks in line with operational procedures
- Conduct toolbox talks and job briefings to communicate tasks, safety standards, and quality expectations to the team
- Act as a role model by demonstrating attention to detail and quality, promoting a 'get it right first time every time' attitude
- Follow business processes fully and utilize work management applications as required to ensure maintenance objectives are met
Experience & skills
- Industrial Training Institute Certificate or Diploma (3 year duration)
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in facility maintenance or similar environment
- IOSH Working Safely Certificate or equivalent
- Proven ability to lead and supervise maintenance teams
- Strong technical knowledge in MEP systems, civil assets, utilities, airfield infrastructure, and lighting systems
- Ability to plan shifts effectively and coordinate work allocation
- Proficiency in CMMS work order management and reporting
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to comply with operational procedures and safety standards
- Good communication skills for toolbox talks and job briefings
