Job description
Mubadala Investment Company is seeking an Analyst to join its newly established AI Lab within the AI Enablement Unit, tasked with developing AI/ML-enabled tools and solutions for Mubadala-specific use cases. The role involves working across business and investment teams to evaluate and implement AI/ML use cases, bringing deep data science expertise to solve real-world problems in a scalable manner. The analyst will support investment and corporate platforms, contribute to idea generation, validate new AI initiatives, and help formalize a prioritized delivery roadmap. The role emphasizes rigorous model documentation, library development, and collaboration with engineering teams for deployment-at-scale. Key domains include generative AI, classical ML, big data processing, optimization, and image/document processing, with application to finance, investments, and asset management. Strong coding skills and familiarity with production-grade AI engineering and cloud platforms are essential. The position requires a team-oriented mindset, high ethical standards, and excellent communication to influence stakeholders across the AI Enablement Unit and wider organization.

Key responsibilities
- Support AI Lab initiatives by evaluating and implementing AI/ML use cases across business and investment teams
- Apply data-led AI/ML methods to solve business problems in a scalable and effective manner
- Provide advanced analytics support to investment and corporate platforms throughout the investment life cycle
- Assist in idea generation and validation of AI initiatives and support development of a prioritized delivery roadmap
- Maintain strong discipline in model documentation and library development to enable scalability and transferability of analytics projects
- Collaborate with engineering teams on productization and deployment-at-scale of AI solutions
- Contribute to generative AI initiatives including agentic workflows, RAG systems, LLM fine-tuning, and vector database implementations
- Leverage classical ML techniques such as tree-based methods, regression, deep learning, forecasting, optimization, Bayesian methods, and model evaluation metrics
Experience & skills
- Technical degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Financial Engineering, or related field
- Postgraduate degree (MSc or PhD) considered an advantage
- Hands-on experience applying data science and AI/ML methods to deliver commercial impact, preferably in finance, investments, or asset management
- Expertise in classical ML and statistical techniques including regression, tree-based methods, deep learning, forecasting, optimization, Bayesian methods, and model evaluation metrics
- Expertise in generative AI techniques including agentic workflows, RAG systems, LLM fine tuning, vector databases, optimization, and deployment
- Advanced coding skills in Python and SQL; additional experience in Java, C++, JavaScript is a plus
- Understanding of production-grade AI engineering, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and design of modular, scalable AI/ML services
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive and innovative mindset
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to influence stakeholders within the AI Enablement Unit and the wider organization
