Job description
The HR Operations Specialist supports EY’s GCC (excluding KSA) cluster by managing complex HR operational matters across the employee lifecycle. The role acts as an escalation point for Managed Services, partners closely with business leaders, and ensures consistent, compliant HR service delivery. Responsibilities span employee relations, legal guidance, grievance handling, performance management cases, disciplinary investigations, involuntary separations, onboarding activities, and governance through ERCMS. The Specialist provides insights to Talent Consultants, supports operational efficiency initiatives, manages sensitive HR matters independently, and ensures alignment with local legislation and EY policy. The position requires strong ER expertise, judgment, stakeholder influence, and the ability to operate within a professional services environment.

Key responsibilities
- Act as escalation point for HR Managed Services across the GCC (excl. KSA).
- Manage HR operational matters, escalating high-risk cases to the HR Ops Lead.
- Handle involuntary separations, including probation failures and performance dismissals.
- Guide counsellors on performance management and talent development matters.
- Oversee disciplinary cases, PIPs, grievances, and investigations using the ERCMS tool.
- Conduct employee relations case investigations and advise on outcomes.
- Provide legal updates to the HR Ops Lead and the business based on UAE labor regulations.
- Deliver induction and WTEY sessions for new joiners.
- Partner with Talent Consultants to provide HR insights and operational support.
- Support operational efficiency projects with HR Enablement and Performance Improvement teams.
- Collaborate with Shared Services for seamless HR lifecycle delivery.
- Prepare and analyse HR metrics and reports to inform decision-making.
- Drive process improvements and propose enhancements to HR operations.
- Support cross-border HR activities across the GCC cluster.
Experience & skills
- 4–5 years of HR operations experience within a professional services or complex organization.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, talent management practices, and employee relations processes.
- Experience managing PIPs, grievances, and disciplinary cases.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate independently on sensitive matters.
- Experience working within the MENA region and across borders.
- Knowledge of shared services environments.
- Strong project management skills.
- Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office.
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field.
- Fluency in English; strong communication skills.
- Ability to challenge constructively and provide sound judgment.
- Negotiation skills and ability to manage risk.
