Job description
The Sales Manager - Liabilities & Accounts at Emirates NBD is responsible for developing, leading, and executing sales strategies to expand the Retail Bankās liability and payroll business across the UAE. Based in Abu Dhabi, the role focuses on acquiring new-to-bank customers, growing CASA and deposit bases, and managing payroll relationships with large corporates, MNCs, government entities, and local organizations. The manager drives business growth through effective team leadership, sales planning, and execution, ensuring consistent performance in meeting financial and cross-sell targets across multiple retail banking products. The role includes developing medium-term sales strategies, delivering annual financial budgets, coordinating cross-functional initiatives, and ensuring strict adherence to bank compliance, AML, and CTF policies. The Sales Manager leads a team responsible for market expansion, customer acquisition, and relationship management while maintaining high standards of risk management, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction. The position requires a results-driven leader with a proven track record in retail banking, sales operations, and team management.

Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement business plans and sales strategies to achieve liability product growth, including deposits, CASA balances, and payroll accounts.
- Acquire new-to-bank customers across corporate, MNC, and government segments to expand the retail banking customer base.
- Deliver annual financial budgets in alignment with the approved business plan.
- Manage and develop sales teams through recruitment, training, coaching, and performance management.
- Ensure sales targets for fixed deposits, CASA, and payroll accounts are consistently met.
- Create and execute area-wise acquisition plans, coordinating with branches for location-based strategies.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective service delivery and cross-functional efficiency.
- Drive cross-selling of non-assigned retail banking products including loans, credit cards, overdrafts, and bancassurance.
- Monitor daily sales activities through a structured sales management system to ensure productivity and compliance.
- Lead market development initiatives to identify new business opportunities and customer segments.
- Implement marketing and incentive campaigns, monitoring outcomes and adjusting strategies as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all bank policies, AML, CTF, and sanctions-related procedures.
- Review high-risk accounts and ensure adherence to compliance and Central Bank regulations.
- Respond to regulatory and audit requests promptly and accurately.
- Provide timely market intelligence updates to guide team strategy and enhance competitiveness.
- Conduct regular team meetings to review performance, identify challenges, and plan corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key business partners to support acquisition and retention initiatives.
Experience & skills
- Graduate or Postgraduate degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, or Finance.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in sales, marketing, or business development within retail banking.
- Extensive experience in liability and payroll management, CASA growth, and cross-selling banking products.
- Strong understanding of compliance regulations including AML, CTF, and KYC frameworks.
- Proficiency in credit policies, banking operations, and product programs.
- Proven ability to manage large teams, motivate staff, and deliver results within tight timeframes.
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in computer applications and digital sales management systems.
- Strong problem-solving and planning abilities with a proactive, customer-focused mindset.
