Job description
Grant Thornton UAE is seeking an Assistant Manager to join its growing External Audit team in Abu Dhabi. The role involves supporting senior colleagues in audit strategy, managing a small client portfolio, reviewing work, and leading a team of associates. You will act as a key client contact, provide clarity on complex financial issues, and support business development activities. Key responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of diverse clients, providing clarity and insight on complex issues.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring exceptional client service.
- Assist senior colleagues in generating new business from target stage to proposal.
- Participate in business development activities and build the firm’s brand across the region.
- Manage, motivate, and coach associates, providing feedback and supporting their development.
- Oversee complex audits, including group audits, ensuring quality and timeliness.
- Delegate workloads effectively and manage multiple engagements.
- Contribute to the firm’s reputation as a market leader in audit and assurance.
Experience & skills
- 5–6 years of External Audit experience in a top international firm.
- Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA).
- Strong technical accounting skills, including IFRS and IPSAS.
- Experience with audit software and Microsoft Office packages.
- Ability to handle complex audits and financial statement consolidations.
- Strong knowledge of internal controls.
- Proven ability to manage multiple engagements independently and in group audits.
- Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
- Willingness to work additional hours and travel as needed.
