Job description
One of the largest programmes in Saudi Arabia, a major mixed-use development spanning sports facilities, entertainment, arts, and associated infrastructure, needs independent assurance that what gets built actually matches what got designed, and that is the core of this Design Compliance Manager, Structures role. You will act in the capacity of the engineer, providing independent structural and civil engineering design assurance and compliance oversight throughout the construction phase. Structural and civil works need supervising against approved IFC drawings, engineering calculations, specifications, and employer's requirements, catching gaps before they become problems. Shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, temporary works proposals, RFIs, and engineering submissions all pass through this role for review and approval. Foundations, concrete structures, steelwork, earthworks, roads, utilities, bridges, and associated infrastructure all fall within the scope of site-based assurance. Design deviations, technical non-compliance, constructability challenges, and engineering risks get identified and managed, driving resolution with contractors and design consultants. Coordination between structural, civil, geotechnical, architectural, and MEP disciplines needs overseeing, keeping complex project interfaces working together rather than against each other. Contractors, supervision teams, specialist consultants, and stakeholders all interface with this role to make sure engineering requirements get interpreted and implemented correctly on site. Authority inspections, approvals, permits, and statutory compliance processes get supported alongside inspections, testing, commissioning, snagging, handover, and close-out activities. Working under contract forms such as FIDIC, and reporting on design compliance status, technical risks, and construction progress to senior stakeholders, rounds out the accountability that comes with the role.
