Job description
The Senior Business Development Analyst role within Saudi Aramco’s Downstream Origination Department supports the execution of the company’s downstream growth strategy through the identification, screening, evaluation, and execution of global investment opportunities. The role focuses on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and project development across integrated refining and petrochemicals, marketing, retail fuels, lubricants, logistics, and storage segments. The position is responsible for originating and evaluating potential opportunities, managing transaction execution activities including due diligence, valuation, deal structuring, and negotiations, and coordinating with multiple internal downstream and administrative stakeholders. The role requires strong expertise in downstream venturing activities, project financing, and financial analysis to support value-accretive investment decisions aligned with Aramco’s long-term strategy.

Key responsibilities
- Screen and originate downstream investment opportunities aligned with the company’s growth strategy
- Evaluate opportunities across refining, petrochemicals, retail, lubricants, logistics, and storage segments
- Execute approved transactions including due diligence, valuation, structuring, and negotiations
- Lead or support negotiations of definitive transaction documents
- Develop financial valuations and models to assess investment attractiveness
- Support project financing activities for downstream investments
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders across downstream business units and administrative areas
- Assess strategic fit, commercial viability, and risk profile of potential opportunities
- Support joint venture formation, commercialization initiatives, spin-offs, and project development activities
- Contribute to facilities planning and downstream strategy development initiatives
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Management or Bachelor of Science in Engineering
- MBA qualification preferred
- Possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in M&A, business development, transaction execution, or project financing
- Demonstrate experience leading transaction execution and negotiating definitive agreements
- Exhibit downstream industry experience in refining, petrochemicals, retail fuels, or lubricants
- Demonstrate experience in project financing and investment structuring
- Show leadership experience in complex transaction or project environments
- Hold or be eligible for certifications such as PMP, CMA, or CFA
- Demonstrate expertise in venturing activities including joint ventures, commercialization, and financial modeling
