Job description
The Director of Debt Advisory at Alvarez & Marsal in Dubai is a senior leadership role within the corporate finance and restructuring consulting domain, focused on delivering high value-add advisory services across debt raising, capital structure optimisation, refinancing, and restructuring for private equity firms, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and corporate clients. The role operates across the full economic cycle, leveraging deep expertise in debt markets, capital markets, and liquidity management to support clients in funding acquisitions, recapitalisations, and refinancing strategies. The position requires extensive experience in leveraged finance, project finance, structured finance, and corporate or investment banking, with strong capabilities in integrated financial modelling, credit analysis, and transaction structuring. The Director is responsible for advising on optimal capital structures, managing lender relationships, presenting compelling credit stories, and negotiating financing terms across both private and public capital markets. The role includes execution of complex financial modelling tasks such as business forecast analysis, scenario analysis, covenant sensitivity analysis, DSCR and LLCR modelling, and enterprise value and leverage impact assessments. The candidate must demonstrate expertise in limited- and non-recourse financings, including exposure to infrastructure, energy, utilities, transport, and PPP-style transactions within the Middle East region. Strong stakeholder management is essential, engaging with sponsors, lenders, advisors, and government counterparties, while independently driving workstreams in a fast-paced consulting environment. The position emphasizes quantitative analysis, financial advisory, transaction execution, and strategic problem-solving, combined with excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills to deliver impactful outcomes in complex financing situations.
