Job description
The Commercial Consultancy Manager at Mace Riyadh will lead integrated teams on one of the largest mixed-use development programmes in Saudi Arabia, including sports facilities, entertainment, arts, and associated infrastructure. The role requires managing contract documentation including warranties, bonds, and licenses, overseeing cost control and valuation processes, directing post-contract cost reporting, evaluating contractor claims, and supervising project completion processes. The manager will drive performance across large or multiple teams, monitor KPIs, champion continuous improvement, and support sustainability and net zero carbon initiatives. This position requires experience on high-value projects within a project management consultancy, adherence to visa and work requirements for Saudi Arabia, and membership in a relevant professional body.

Key responsibilities
- Lead contract documentation including warranties, bonds, and licenses to ensure formal execution by all parties
- Manage large teams or multiple teams, driving performance, KPIs, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Oversee cost control and valuation processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting and budget adherence
- Direct monthly post-contract cost reporting and present findings to clients for transparency and accountability
- Identify and manage cost impacts from design changes, construction activities, and client-driven variations
- Evaluate contractor claims for delays and additional costs, ensuring fair and accurate assessments
- Supervise project completion processes, including issuing certificates of practical and final completion
- Champion process improvement and sustainability, enhancing cost management practices and supporting net zero carbon goals
Experience & skills
- Possess the necessary visa criteria and legal eligibility to work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with proven experience managing high-value projects or programmes within a project management consultancy environment, ensuring compliance with client, government, and organizational requirements.
- Hold a relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, construction management, project management, or a related field, providing the technical foundation for understanding complex construction projects and integrated delivery approaches.
- Membership in a recognized professional body relevant to construction or project management, demonstrating adherence to professional standards, ongoing development, and recognition within the industry.
- Extensive experience leading multidisciplinary teams across large-scale projects, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards, while maintaining high levels of team engagement and performance.
- Demonstrated expertise in contract administration, including preparing, reviewing, and executing complex contracts, managing warranties, bonds, licenses, and other contractual instruments, ensuring risk mitigation and compliance with legal and client expectations.
- Strong financial acumen, including cost control, valuation, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and variance analysis, with the ability to provide actionable insights, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure financial transparency to clients and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage project risks, evaluate contractor claims, and implement mitigation strategies while maintaining professional relationships and supporting dispute resolution processes, protecting both client interests and organizational reputation.
- Experience driving process improvement and sustainability initiatives, including implementing best practices, enhancing cost management procedures, and contributing to corporate goals such as achieving net zero carbon emissions and fostering continuous improvement culture across project teams.
