Job description
As Compliance Assurance Manager at Zurich Middle East in Dubai, UAE, reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, the incumbent will implement and deliver the Compliance Assurance strategy and framework for their organizational unit in alignment with the Zurich Compliance Program and Group Compliance Strategy. The role entails executing assurance obligations to ensure Compliance Risks are identified and managed, collaborating on complex compliance policies and regulations, and delivering assurance reporting to stakeholders including the Executive Committee and governance committees. Responsibilities include partnering with other assurance providers across the three lines of defense, contributing to Compliance Risk Assessments, conducting simple and moderate complex assurance activities, creating action plans for identified findings, coordinating with internal and external assurance providers, supporting project management, and recommending improvements to increase the effectiveness of the compliance assurance function. The role requires experience in the insurance industry, regulatory knowledge of CBB, DFSA, QFCRA, and CB UAE, professional compliance or internal audit certifications (e.g., ACAMS, ICA), strong analytical skills, high accuracy, and attention to detail.

Key responsibilities
- Implement and execute organizational unit's assurance obligations under the Zurich Compliance Program
- Collaborate and provide guidance on assurance subjects within and outside Compliance function
- Partner with business management on complex compliance policies and regulations to manage Compliance Risks
- Coordinate with other assurance providers to minimize overlaps and inefficiencies across three lines of defense
- Prepare reporting materials for Compliance function stakeholders including Executive Committee and governance committees
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance understanding and support for Compliance Assurance activities
- Contribute to Compliance Risk Assessment process and provide assurance-based recommendations
- Conduct simple and moderate complex assurance activities and assist in more complex assurance tasks
- Develop action plans to address identified findings in cooperation with business units
- Support project management activities including planning, monitoring, and business communication coordination
- Provide adequate reporting regarding progress against assurance plans and escalate overdue issues
- Recommend enhancements to improve the effectiveness of the Compliance Assurance function
Experience & skills
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) with minimum 6 years of relevant experience
- Local regulatory knowledge and previous approvals preferred - CBB, DFSA, QFCRA, CB UAE
- Professional Certification in Compliance or Internal Audit highly preferred (ACAMS, ICA)
- Experience in Compliance, Legal, and Regulatory environment within the Insurance industry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills in English; Arabic skills a plus
- High accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to handle pressure and stressful situations effectively
- Collaboration skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders
