Compressors & Steam Turbines Engineer within Saudi Aramco Rotating Equipment Division (RED) responsible for providing high-level technical consultations and engineering support to operating facilities, joint ventures, and mega projects from early design stages through startup. The role focuses on rotating equipment including compressors, steam turbines, and gearboxes, supporting refinery, chemical plant, and gas plant environments. The engineer develops value-adding concepts and technologies to address corporate challenges, improve operational performance, and enhance reliability, availability, and performance of rotating equipment. Responsibilities include specifying and reviewing equipment designs, selections, ratings, and specifications for new projects and modifications, maintaining Saudi Aramco mandatory engineering standards and best practices, and developing new technologies and innovative ideas. The position requires expertise in dynamic equipment such as centrifugal compressors, positive displacement equipment such as reciprocating compressors, steam turbines, gearboxes, and auxiliary components including seals, bearings, and lube oil systems. The engineer analyzes performance, performs troubleshooting, supports repair and selection activities, and leads solutions to plant machinery technical issues. Additional responsibilities include mentoring junior engineers, providing technical direction, maintaining compliance with international codes and API standards, and authoring engineering reports and case histories related to compressors and steam turbines. The role operates within Saudi Aramco’s global energy environment delivering technical support across large-scale industrial facilities and mega projects, emphasizing technology investment, reliability improvement, and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities
- Provide high-level technical consultations and engineering support for rotating equipment including centrifugal compressors, reciprocating compressors, positive displacement compressors, gearboxes and steam turbines across operating facilities, joint ventures and mega projects
- Specify and review equipment designs, selections, ratings and specifications for new projects and modifications of existing compressors, steam turbines and gearboxes
- Maintain and improve company engineering standards and best practices related to compressors, steam turbines and gearboxes
- Develop and introduce new technologies and innovative concepts to enhance equipment reliability, availability and performance and address corporate operational challenges
- Lead development and recommendation of technical solutions for plant machinery issues involving compressors, steam turbines, gearboxes and auxiliary components
- Analyze performance, troubleshoot, select and support repair of process gas compressors, steam turbines and gearboxes including seals, bearings and lube oil systems
- Provide work direction, technical advice and mentoring to teammates and junior engineers while supporting rotating equipment initiatives
Experience & skills
- Hold Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from recognized program with advanced degree preferred
- Possess at least 20 years experience in rotating equipment with focus on compressors and steam turbines within refineries, chemical plants, gas plants or similar facilities
- Demonstrate experience analyzing performance, troubleshooting, selecting and repairing process gas compressors, steam turbines and gearboxes including seals, bearings and lube oil systems
- Maintain detailed knowledge of international engineering codes and API standards related to rotating equipment including compressors, steam turbines and gearboxes
- Hold Category II vibration analyst certification
- Submit at least two recent engineering reports or case histories authored on rotating equipment including compressors and steam turbines problems
