Job description
HSBC is seeking a seasoned executive to lead its Global Network Banking (GNB) business in the UAE. The Head of GNB will be responsible for managing HSBCâs international corporate client portfolio, developing strategic business plans, leading a high-performing team, and ensuring top-tier service delivery. The role requires a strong understanding of international banking, risk management, and cross-border product solutions. The successful candidate will drive growth, enhance HSBCâs brand in the region, and serve as a key liaison between the UAE market and the global HSBC network.

Key responsibilities
- Lead and grow the Global Network Banking business in the UAE, enhancing HSBCâs positioning as a top international bank
- Develop and implement business strategies to acquire new clients, increase wallet share, and retain existing relationships
- Provide leadership and guidance to the GNB team, fostering a high-performance culture and succession planning
- Engage clients directly to meet their funding, investment, and transactional needs
- Collaborate with global and regional stakeholders, including GPS, GTS, and MSS, to deliver integrated banking solutions
- Ensure compliance with HSBCâs global standards and regulatory frameworks
- Champion a client-centric culture, resolving issues, and leading complaint management
- Support risk and credit processes to uphold portfolio quality and minimize exposure
- Act as HSBCâs representative in market-facing activities, forums, and government collaborations
- Contribute to strategic planning and execution of CIB goals in alignment with regional and global objectives
Experience & skills
- Proven experience in international corporate banking with a successful leadership track record
- Strong exposure to credit, cash management, trade finance, and structured lending solutions
- Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing multicultural teams
- Track record in developing and executing market-leading strategies and business plans
- High-level stakeholder management skills, including experience with C-suite clients and regulators
- Exceptional understanding of regulatory, cultural, and economic dynamics in the UAE and wider MENAT region
- Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders at all organizational levels
- Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and business foresight
- Graduate degree (required for UAE visa compliance); postgraduate or industry certifications a plus
