Job description
The Power BI and AI Automation Intern at The First Group will contribute to the design, development, and automation of data-driven solutions supporting the company’s analytics and business intelligence initiatives. Based in Dubai, this internship involves close collaboration with the Data Engineering and Business Intelligence teams to build Power BI dashboards, integrate Azure OpenAI (ChatGPT Enterprise), and streamline data pipelines for enhanced decision-making. The role includes developing and optimizing Power BI dashboards using DAX, Power Query, and data modeling; building and maintaining ETL workflows through SQL and Python; and leveraging AI automation by integrating natural language processing (NLP) and OpenAI technologies into business tools. The intern will assist in developing intelligent chat solutions, automating workflows, and embedding AI analytics into internal systems. Responsibilities also include ensuring data integrity through quality assurance checks, supporting data governance, and documenting all development and configuration processes. Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards that visualize business KPIs and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to build data models and ETL workflows using SQL and Python.
- Leverage Azure OpenAI (Enterprise ChatGPT) to develop intelligent chat solutions and automate internal workflows.
- Assist in integrating AI and natural language processing features into existing business intelligence applications.
- Support data governance and quality assurance by validating and cleaning datasets to maintain accuracy.
- Document all project progress, code, and system configurations for transparency and maintainability.
- Participate in brainstorming and prototyping sessions to create innovative AI-powered data analytics solutions.
Experience & skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of Power BI including dashboard development, DAX queries, Power Query, data modeling, and report optimization.
- Strong understanding of SQL for data extraction, joins, aggregations, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
- Proficiency in Python with experience using pandas, numpy, and matplotlib for data analysis and visualization.
- Familiarity with Azure OpenAI / ChatGPT Enterprise integrations and API usage.
- Understanding of prompt engineering concepts and AI-assisted data analytics methodologies.
- Experience connecting Power BI to SQL databases, Excel, or APIs for data integration.
- Basic knowledge of Git or GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and data interpretation skills.
- Excellent communication abilities for presenting technical insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
