Job description
Google is seeking a Technical Lead for EMEA GeoExpansion to provide technical leadership for the expansion and optimization of Google Cloud Platform infrastructure across the EMEA region, with Dubai as one of the preferred working locations. The role sits within Google Cloud, which delivers secure, reliable, and scalable enterprise-grade cloud solutions spanning infrastructure, platforms, applications, devices, and hardware. The Technical Lead β EMEA GeoExpansion is responsible for driving the GeoExpansion roadmap, proactively managing the regional data center portfolio, optimizing performance, mitigating infrastructure risks, and advocating innovation. The role involves acting as a senior technical advisor for customer and partner deployments, translating commercial and regional demand into technical execution plans, and ensuring alignment with global engineering standards. The position plays a critical role in AI service deployment across EMEA, including planning and influencing future AI hardware investments such as GPU and TPU capacity, managing large-scale Classic and AI capacity escalations, and safeguarding business continuity. The role requires close collaboration with local country teams, regional leadership, and global stakeholders to size demand, develop business cases, secure approvals, support compliant regional design, and deliver large-scale AI and cloud infrastructure build-outs.

Key responsibilities
- Drive technical leadership for the EMEA GeoExpansion roadmap across Google Cloud infrastructure
- Proactively manage the EMEA data center portfolio to optimize performance, mitigate risks, and drive innovation
- Collaborate with local teams to size regional demand, develop business cases, and secure investment approvals
- Represent the EMEA region in semester planning and governance for regional cloud service rollouts
- Ensure deployment and availability of all relevant AI services across EMEA regions
- Translate regional AI demand into future hardware planning and influence AI infrastructure strategy
- Manage large-scale Classic and AI capacity escalations to safeguard commercial and operational outcomes
- Oversee GPU and TPU allocation and optimize utilization across EMEA data centers
- Partner with country leadership on key customer deals, advising on regional cloud and data center design
- Drive compliant regional architecture design and support central build-out of significant AI capacity
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical consulting experience
- Possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in cloud infrastructure strategy, capacity planning, or technical program management
- Demonstrate experience acting as a technical advisor or solution engineer for customer deployments
- Exhibit understanding of data center fundamentals including infrastructure, networking, and hardware dependencies
- Maintain technical fluency across cloud service models including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS
