Job description
Mashreq's Qatar Compliance unit keeps the bank's branches in line with QCB regulations and its own AML/KYC policies, and this Compliance Manager runs its day-to-day operations in support of the CCO & MLRO. Externally, you represent the bank on AML/CFT, Sanctions and regulatory compliance matters, coordinating between branches, QCB and other authorities with guidance from IBG-Compliance. Suspicious transactions reported by branches and units come to you for analysis and investigation, and STR submissions to QCB need complete, accurate information delivered on time. Regulatory notices and circulars must reach the right people quickly, sometimes with Arabic and English translations. Product programs and SOPs are checked against QCB requirements and the AML/KYC Policy, and high-risk breaches go straight to the CCO & MLRO with action plans tracked to closure. Training, the local Compliance/AML Manual and the capture of issues on MERs all help build a strong compliance culture across Qatar branches. Candidates need 7 to 10 years in banking with a good understanding of US and Qatar products and operations, a professional qualification in business, commerce, economics or law, and CAMS or an equivalent certification. Strong English is required, and Arabic is an advantage.
