Job description
Five functional heads report into this Vice President, Projects Delivery role, covering Major Projects, Off-Plot Projects, Engineering, Project Technical Services, and Construction, with the position itself reporting to the Chief Operating Officer. Single point accountability for OQEP's entire capital projects portfolio sits here, directing planning, engineering, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and close-out across every upstream project against agreed scope, schedule, budget, quality, and functionality. You own the project portfolio framework and master plan, optimising resources and deliverability in consultation with the business lines and OPMS guidelines. Integrated project reviews get governed across planning, design, and construction, maximising value and cost effectiveness at every stage. As the senior project authority, you set delivery standards, govern design integrity and contracting strategy, and ensure rigorous project controls and assurance across the portfolio. Health, safety, security, and environment standards run through every project activity, championed at the highest level alongside organisational capability building. Contracts, bidding documentation, and the selection of engineers, consultants, and contractors all fall under your governance, often chairing selection committees directly. Communication with executive leadership, the Board, business lines, and external partners stays proactive throughout, protecting both project outcomes and the Company's reputation.
