Job description
The Area Director of Finance at Jumeirah Burj Al Arab & Jumeirah Beach Hotel is responsible for full day-to-day financial oversight of the Burj Al Arab and the financial operations of Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Wild Wadi, J Clubs, and Oasis Village Colleague Community. The role partners with business leaders to drive profitability, financial excellence, and sustainable growth across multiple luxury hospitality assets. The position executes the clusterâs financial strategy, ensuring alignment of financial outcomes with the Groupâs business objectives. Key responsibilities include leading financial transformation projects using digital tools and BI systems, overseeing financial planning and analysis including annual budgets, 5-year plans, and rolling forecasts, delivering monthly performance reviews, variance analysis, and business dashboards, managing KPIs and productivity metrics, developing long-term capital investment and asset maintenance strategies, conducting feasibility studies and ROI assessments, managing FF&E reserves and CAPEX budgets, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local regulations, leading internal and external audits, and enhancing automation and financial control systems. The Area Director drives innovation in finance, supports team development, acts as a board-level communicator and stakeholder manager, and leverages BI tools to provide real-time insights and agile forecasting, contributing to sustainable growth of Jumeirahâs luxury hospitality portfolio.

Key responsibilities
- Execute the clusterâs financial strategy to support revenue growth, cost efficiency, and long-term profitability across multiple hospitality assets.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing finance team, ensuring alignment of departmental objectives with corporate goals.
- Partner with General Managers and department heads to align business decisions with financial performance metrics and ROI targets.
- Lead financial transformation projects using digital tools and BI systems such as Power BI, Tableau, HFM, Hyperion, Oracle, and Opera for real-time insights and agile forecasting.
- Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A) including annual budgets, 5-year plans, rolling forecasts, variance analysis, and business dashboards.
- Drive KPI management, productivity tracking, and profitability optimization across all managed properties and operations.
- Develop long-term capital investment and asset maintenance strategies, conduct feasibility studies, ROI reviews, and manage FF&E reserves, CAPEX budgets, and owner reporting.
- Ensure adherence to IFRS, internal control frameworks, and local regulations, lead internal and external audits, enhance automation, reporting accuracy, and financial control systems, and act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership.
Experience & skills
- Obtain a Bachelorâs degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce, with a professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or CMA) and preferably an MBA or postgraduate qualification in finance or strategy.
- Demonstrate a minimum of 10 yearsâ experience in hospitality finance, including at least 2 years in a cluster or area finance role.
- Possess strong strategic and financial acumen with a commercial mindset and advanced analytical, modeling, and reporting skills.
- Demonstrate proficiency in financial systems and BI tools such as HFM, Hyperion, Oracle, Opera, Power BI, and Tableau.
- Exhibit effective communication and stakeholder management skills at board level.
- Demonstrate experience leading financial transformation, automation, and business intelligence initiatives within luxury hospitality.
- Show proven ability to align financial operations with business strategy, optimize profitability, and manage multi-property finance operations.
- Have exposure to Middle East hospitality markets and knowledge of IFRS, internal control frameworks, and regulatory compliance.
