Job description
The Manager Credit Risk Evaluation is responsible for leading strategic credit reviews within a dynamic banking environment in Doha, Qatar, supporting the Institutional Banking Group (IBG), Treasury, and Wholesale Banking functions. The role drives the development and execution of credit evaluation strategies aligned with organizational goals, ensuring robust credit risk evaluation and effective mitigation of financial and operational risks. The position oversees corporate and SME credit assessments, conducts comprehensive credit review and credit grading processes, and ensures adherence to internal policies and QCB regulatory guidelines. The Manager reviews and recommends credit applications by performing in-depth financial analysis and financial risk assessment to minimize potential losses. The role requires close familiarity with QCB regulatory frameworks and banking compliance standards, ensuring regulatory alignment across all credit decisions. Responsibilities include mentoring and guiding Credit Risk Analysts in credit assessment methodologies, financial analysis, and risk management practices, as well as conducting client meetings and site inspections to support informed credit decisions. The position builds strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, prepares management reporting, and contributes to recruitment and performance reviews within the credit risk function. With 15 years of experience in financial services or banking, the Manager Credit Risk Evaluation plays a critical leadership role in strengthening credit governance, enhancing portfolio quality, and supporting sustainable growth across IBG, Treasury, and Wholesale Banking portfolios.

- Lead the development and execution of credit evaluation strategies aligned with organizational goals across Institutional Banking Group (IBG), Treasury, and Wholesale Banking portfolios.
- Oversee corporate and SME credit assessments by conducting comprehensive credit review, financial analysis, credit grading, and financial risk assessment to mitigate risk and minimize potential losses.
- Review and recommend credit applications by evaluating financial and operational risks while ensuring compliance with internal policies and QCB regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure full adherence to QCB regulatory frameworks and internal credit governance standards across all credit risk evaluation processes.
- Guide, mentor, and supervise Credit Risk Analysts in financial analysis, credit assessment methodologies, credit grading, and risk management best practices.
- Conduct client meetings and site inspections to validate credit information, assess operational risk exposure, and support informed credit decision-making.
- Prepare detailed management reporting on credit risk evaluation outcomes, portfolio quality, and emerging risk trends for senior leadership review.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders while contributing to recruitment, performance reviews, and continuous development within the credit risk function.
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Banking, Finance, or related field, with a Master’s degree preferred to support advanced credit risk evaluation responsibilities.
- Possess 15 years of experience in financial services or banking with significant exposure to credit review, corporate credit analysis, SME credit analysis, and financial risk assessment.
- Demonstrate strong familiarity with QCB regulatory frameworks and QCB regulatory guidelines governing credit risk and banking compliance in Qatar.
- Exhibit proven leadership capability in managing and mentoring Credit Risk Analysts, overseeing credit grading processes, and strengthening risk management practices.
- Show advanced analytical thinking and decision-making skills applied to credit applications, financial statements, and operational risk evaluation.
- Demonstrate experience supporting Institutional Banking Group (IBG), Treasury, and Wholesale Banking credit portfolios within a structured banking environment.
- Exhibit strong capability in preparing management reporting and communicating credit risk evaluation findings to senior stakeholders.
- Display excellent communication and relationship management skills to effectively engage internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders in support of sound credit decisions.
