Job description
The Assistant Manager - Parts Planning & Procurement in Dubai oversees parts ordering, inventory management, and strategic planning for automotive operations. The role focuses on achieving principal purchase targets, optimizing stock levels, supporting vehicle launches, and maximizing parts availability for internal and external customers. The position involves leveraging digital tools such as Syncron inventory optimization software, Power BI dashboards, and ERP systems to drive data-driven decisions, streamline procurement processes, and enhance operational efficiency. The role also requires close collaboration with Sales, Service, Finance, Warehouse, and Principal teams to ensure timely parts delivery, stock optimization, and overall customer satisfaction.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Review and place parts orders in line with purchase targets and forecasted order value.
- Monitor incoming shipments and coordinate with Freight, Customs, Finance, and Warehouse teams for receipting and inventory optimization.
- Leverage digital tools (Syncron, Power BI, ERP) for inventory optimization, forecasting, and system alerts analysis.
- Conduct detailed inventory analyses, manage excess/slow-moving/aged stocks, and execute liquidation strategies when necessary.
- Coordinate with Pricing and Principals to optimize order planning and cost competitiveness.
- Manage new model parts inventory in line with vehicle launch schedules.
- Monitor parts fulfillment across all channels to ensure high customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with Sales, Service, Warehouse, and Principals to improve parts availability and resolve operational issues.
- Analyze data and generate insights for KPI tracking, system enhancements, and process improvements.
- Support training and skill development within the team.
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, corporate policies, and audit requirements.
Experience & skills
- 8–10 years of experience in automobile parts planning, ordering, and inventory management.
- Graduate / Diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of ICE and EV components, including batteries, motors, and power electronics.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, advanced Excel, Power BI, MS Access, and data analytics tools.
- Hands-on knowledge of spare parts operations, EPC, and Principal DMS.
- Project management skills and understanding of spare parts operational complexities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
