Stantec brings together roughly 22,000 people across more than 400 locations, and this role sits within its regional engineering consultancy work on the Dubai Municipality project. The Sr. NOC Engineer acts as the coordination point between the DM Project Team, supervision teams, the Contractor NOC representative, and local authorities in Dubai. Design deliverables pass through you for review with local authorities, and securing the necessary approvals and permits within reasonable timeframes falls under your remit. Authority comments and requested design changes flow back through you to the relevant project teams, so nothing gets lost between the regulator and the design office. Staying current on local engineering construction regulations and codes matters here, and so does making sure any changes reach the right stakeholders without delay. You will need in-depth knowledge of engineering standards and codes alongside sound knowledge of local authority regulations and guidelines. Solid engineering design knowledge underpins the coordination work, since reviewing deliverables requires understanding what is being submitted. Fluency in English and Arabic is expected given the volume of communication with authorities and project teams. Prior experience coordinating with authorities on large regional projects is required, and time spent working within Dubai specifically is preferred.
