Job description
The job holder will be responsible for managing respective Babyshop outlets in their area to ensure maximum sales, profitability, effective stock management, and increased customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include maintaining visual merchandising standards, retail operations, and customer service. The role also includes coaching the team and driving continuous improvements.

Key responsibilities
- Maximize sales and profitability of the area
- Formulate and implement store strategies and procedures
- Coach Store Managers to use commercial information effectively
- Control costs within budgetary guidelines
- Promote awareness of local trading patterns, the trading environment and competitor activity
- Identify internal and external commercial opportunities
- Maximize productivity in stores through effective deployment of resources
- Increase market share in the area and study competition regularly
- Monitor and control expenses (overtime, local, stock and consumables) through efficient store operations
- Look at prospective sites and evaluate new sites
- Execute new store openings and re-fits
- Ensure promotions are implemented according to guidelines and identify local/seasonal promotional opportunities
- Ensure maintenance and regular review of store operational and corporate standards
- Monitor inventory management systems (stock availability, order management, back store management, stock consolidation and transfer)
- Ensure on-time stock count and effective stock management
- Monitor staffing levels in stores to ensure effective deployment
- Monitor store administration to maximize operational efficiency
- Ensure compliance with employment and state laws, health and safety standards
- Ensure stores portray the company image in personal presentation and dress code
- Maintain best retail standards as per market positioning
- Initiate action on slow moving and non-moving products
- Provide regular product feedback to senior management and buying department
- Supervise visual merchandising to support brand and intended theme
- Monitor and execute events like sales and promotions
- Support induction of new recruits
- Manage, develop and motivate staff to increase sales and efficiency
- Ensure right mix of staffing across all showrooms
- Assist Store Managers in staff welfare activities
- Ensure new recruits understand their job and settle well
- Assist Store Managers in grievance handling and disciplinary actions
- Ensure staff skill development through job rotation and training
- Monitor and appraise showroom staff and develop career plans
- Set KPIs for direct reports and conduct performance appraisals
- Oversee staff deployment and drive motivation
- Monitor staff welfare and handle complaints
- Ensure resource planning and succession planning
- Implement high standards of customer focus through coaching
- Regularly assess customer service standards
- Ensure highest level of customer satisfaction
- Assess mystery shopping feedback and implement improvement plans
- Create seamless customer service orientation among store employees
Experience & skills
- At least 5-10 years of work experience in fashion retail in a similar role
- 3 years in retail industry handling at least 8-10 stores
- In depth knowledge of fashion business and retail industry
- Good knowledge of Merchandising, Stock Management and Inventory processes
- Drive for achieving key sales metrics
