Job description
The Stadium Delivery Lead Engineer in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is responsible for leading the delivery of a major mixed-use development project including sports facilities, entertainment, arts, and associated infrastructure. This role requires expertise in FIDIC contract administration to ensure contractual compliance, technical and commercial standards, and impartial decision-making. The position manages contractor submissions, schedules, method statements, technical documents, payments, variations, and claims. The engineer maintains transparent communication with stakeholders, monitors quality of works, evaluates claims, resolves disputes, and ensures all works meet contractual and technical requirements. Leadership, strong communication, and the ability to maintain impartiality under pressure are essential for successful project delivery.

Key responsibilities
- Administer FIDIC contracts ensuring compliance with technical and commercial requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review contractor submissions, schedules, method statements, and technical documentation for accuracy, compliance, and feasibility.
- Issue authorised instructions and maintain transparent communication with all stakeholders to ensure alignment and clarity.
- Certify payments, manage contract variations, and safeguard programme integrity and project costs.
- Maintain impartiality and independence in contractual assessments and decisions, ensuring fairness and contractual compliance.
- Monitor the quality of construction works and confirm alignment with technical specifications, contractual obligations, and project standards.
- Resolve disagreements and claims proactively through effective communication, clarification, and contractual guidance.
- Evaluate claims and disputes, applying sound judgement to ensure equitable resolution while promoting collaboration among parties.
Experience & skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with extensive experience in large-scale programme delivery.
- Minimum 18 years of experience in delivering major infrastructure or mixed-use development projects.
- Registered with the Saudi Council of Engineers; experience in GCC/KSA projects preferred.
- Proven expertise in FIDIC contract administration, claims management, and cost control.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and coordinate multi-disciplinary stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to maintain transparent relationships with contractors, clients, and project teams.
- Ability to make impartial and informed decisions under pressure while ensuring contractual fairness.
- Demonstrated experience in quality control, project scheduling, variation management, and dispute resolution for large-scale projects.
