Job description
As a Senior Associate within the Digital Audit practice at PwC Middle East in Riyadh, you will play a critical role in delivering SAP-focused IT assurance services across a broad portfolio of clients. This position sits within the Assurance line of service and focuses on evaluating SAP IT General Controls (ITGC) and Business Process Controls (BPC) to strengthen governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks. You will contribute to engagements that assess SAP environments including ECC, S/4HANA, GRC, Security, and related modules, applying established frameworks such as COBIT, COSO, and ITIL. The role combines technical IT audit expertise with strong client interaction, requiring clear communication of findings, practical remediation recommendations, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will also mentor junior team members, support engagement management, and stay informed on emerging digital audit tools, automation, AI, and analytics that enhance audit quality and efficiency. This position requires bilingual proficiency in Arabic and English, strong analytical thinking, and the ability to operate confidently within complex SAP landscapes and regulatory environments in Saudi Arabia.

Key responsibilities
- Lead and execute SAP ITGC and Business Process Controls engagements, including planning, scoping, risk assessment, execution of testing procedures, and preparation of high-quality audit reports.
- Assess the design and operating effectiveness of IT General Controls within SAP environments, covering access management, change management, security administration, and system development lifecycle controls.
- Evaluate business process controls across key SAP cycles such as procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, and record-to-report, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal control requirements.
- Design and perform detailed control testing procedures including walkthroughs, sampling, evidence analysis, and documentation of findings aligned with established audit methodologies.
- Identify control deficiencies, gaps, and improvement opportunities, and provide clear, actionable recommendations to strengthen SAP governance, risk, and compliance structures.
- Communicate audit findings and observations effectively to client management, preparing concise and impactful presentations and reports for stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with client IT, finance, risk, and internal audit teams to address queries, validate remediation plans, and align on best practices and industry standards.
- Coach and mentor junior associates, providing technical guidance on SAP controls, supporting their professional development, and contributing to a high-performing team environment.
Experience & skills
- Bachelorβs degree in Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 3β5 years of experience in IT auditing, risk management, or consulting with a strong focus on SAP systems and controls.
- Strong knowledge of SAP applications and modules including SAP ECC, S/4HANA, SAP GRC, SAP Security, SAP BPC, and SAP Solution Manager.
- Experience with ITGC and BPC frameworks and methodologies such as COBIT, COSO, ITIL, and SOX compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in SAP security concepts including user access management, segregation of duties (SoD), role design, and authorization controls.
- Professional certification completed or in progress (e.g., CISA, CISSP, CPA, CISM, CRISC) or relevant postgraduate qualification is preferred.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to assess complex IT environments and identify risk exposures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build client relationships and present findings clearly in both Arabic and English.
- Demonstrated leadership capability in managing workstreams, leading small teams, and driving engagements to successful completion.
- Willingness to travel to client sites within Saudi Arabia as required.
