Job description
The Financial Accountant at Tractebel, part of the ENGIE Group, will operate within the Finance Department in Dubai to ensure financial integrity and compliance across regional and global operations. The role supports the organization in its transition toward sustainable energy solutions by delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining general ledgers, handling VAT and WHT compliance in the Middle East, reconciling intercompany accounts, and assisting with audits. The role also involves ERP system proficiency, primarily QuickBooks or SAP, and requires close coordination across departments to meet reporting timelines and support strategic financial initiatives within a cross-border setting.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports and assist with budget monitoring.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts.
- Handle month-end closing activities including accruals, prepayments, and expense reports.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure timely postings in accounting systems.
- Supervise accounts receivable and payable processes with weekly aging reviews.
- Develop cash flow forecasts and support both regional and group-level financial reporting.
- Submit VAT and WHT returns for Middle East entities in compliance with local regulations.
- Assist in external audits and resolve discrepancies or compliance issues.
- Manage global payment processes and petty cash disbursements.
- Reconcile intercompany accounts across Tractebel entities worldwide.
- Apply and promote adherence to IFRS standards and internal accounting policies.
- Ensure timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting requirements.
Experience & skills
- ACCA, CA, MBA, or M.COM degree.
- 3ā5 years of relevant experience in accounting roles.
- Current or previous role as General Accountant or Senior Accountant preferred.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, SAP, or any ERP system.
- Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
- Proficient in MS Excel and accounting software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage deadlines in a dynamic, international work environment.
