Job description
The Trade Operations Assistant Manager at Emirates NBD Dubai is responsible for handling trade finance transactions by applying up-to-date procedural and operational knowledge, ensuring accurate work completion, compliance with internal guidelines, Sharia principles, and regulatory frameworks. The role includes identifying operational risks, preventing audit observations and operational losses, reconciling accounts and suspense accounts, daily Nostro reconciliation, analyzing complaints/errors to prevent recurrence, and implementing process improvements through LEAN concepts. The position requires liaising with internal and external customers, participating in department projects including UAT, regression, and sanity testing, assisting in organizational initiatives, adhering to HR guidelines, tracking team attendance, and conducting performance appraisals. The role promotes an environment of initiative, accountability, and continuous development.

Key responsibilities
- Handle trade finance transactions ensuring accurate work completion and compliance with internal policies, Sharia guidelines, and regulatory requirements
- Identify operational risks and implement measures to prevent audit observations and operational losses
- Reconcile related accounts, suspense accounts, and perform daily Nostro reconciliation
- Apply LEAN concepts to improve efficiency and ensure non-recurrence of complaints/errors
- Liaise with internal and external customers to resolve queries and issues
- Ensure collection of commissions, charges, and profit as per tariff
- Archive settled/closed transactions and conduct physical verification of files periodically
- Participate in department projects involving UAT, regression, and sanity testing
- Engage in organizational initiatives and special assignments as required
- Track team attendance and carry out performance appraisals
- Assist in all other operations and administrative functions as required
Experience & skills
- Fluency in Arabic and English (reading, writing, and typing)
- Good knowledge of EI Trade transactions and trade products
- Decision-making skills within established guidelines
- 1–3 years of industry experience in banking or financial institutions, including 1 year regional and 2 years functional in EI Trade
- Strong PC skills including MS Word and MS Excel
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
- University degree or equivalent qualification; Banking Diploma or Professional Certifications
