Job description
The Senior Compliance Manager at DP World in Dubai is responsible for providing proactive, reliable, and user-friendly support to the VP & Executive General Counsel and senior management on compliance matters across the GCC Region. The role involves developing and implementing compliance controls, policies, and procedures tailored to meet the regulatory needs within the GCC, including privacy and data protection (GDPR), Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Anti-trust/Competition laws, and Economic Sanctions. The manager identifies and translates relevant laws and regulations into internal policies and ensures compliance with all external regulatory frameworks. This includes coordinating with corporate functions, regional offices, and business units to monitor adherence to Group global policies, leading the implementation of controls to prevent policy violations, and conducting periodic reviews of policy compliance self-certifications. The position requires preparing and submitting regular compliance reports to the VP & Executive General Counsel, supporting the drafting and reviewing of regulatory documentation, identifying areas of compliance risk, and implementing corrective actions. The role supervises junior compliance team members and addresses both internal and external compliance-related inquiries. Additional responsibilities include keeping up-to-date with legal and regulatory developments, identifying emerging regulatory risks, and acting as an ambassador for DP World by promoting the companyâs values and safety standards. Candidates must hold a Bachelor Degree in Law from an accredited English-speaking university and a compliance certification. Arabic language proficiency and Middle East work experience are desirable. A minimum of 7 years post-qualification experience in an internationally recognized compliance department of a multinational company, ideally within the Middle East, is required. The candidate must have strong negotiation skills for legal issues and transaction documentation, and the ability to guide compliance operations effectively within a complex multinational environment.
