Job description
The Quantity Surveyor-MEP is responsible for supporting both pre- and post-tender phases of construction projects, ensuring the accuracy of the project budget and alignment with the latest scope and configurations. Duties include reviewing and updating Provisional Bills of Quantities (BOQ), maintaining live project cost reports integrated with Change Order Requests (CORs), Anticipated Costs (ACs), and commercial awards. The role entails active participation in design workshops to provide cost guidance, facilitating the implementation and review of design changes, and monitoring budget compliance. The Quantity Surveyor-MEP manages contracts with consultants/specialists, advises project stakeholders on contractual rights and obligations, and oversees the payment certification process by coordinating invoice reviews, Payment Certificate preparation, and liaising with the Finance department. They also assist in identifying and updating cost elements linked to the pre-tender risk register to support project management responses to risks. The role is aligned with company standards and procedural compliance across all phases.

- Review and advise on the accuracy of the project budget in relation to scope and configuration
- Evaluate and break down the pre-tender priced Provisional BOQ against the approved budget
- Maintain the updated BOQ integrated with cost reports, CORs, and ACs
- Participate in design development workshops to provide cost guidance and budget compliance
- Implement and review Change Order Requests and provide cost feedback
- Set up and maintain live project Cost Reports with all relevant commercial data
- Administer contracts with consultants and specialists, providing contractual guidance
- Manage the invoice certification process in compliance with company procedures
- Liaise with Finance for payment follow-up and contractual payment obligations
- Support the Planner in cost allocation to the pre-tender risk register and keep it updated
Experience & skills
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree
- Demonstrate expertise in pre- and post-tender quantity surveying for MEP works
- Have experience with project budgeting and BOQ preparation
- Be proficient in contract administration and payment certification processes
- Be familiar with risk register maintenance and cost allocation strategies
