Job description
MashreqBank is seeking a dynamic Relationship Manager ā Business Banking to manage and expand its portfolio of Small Enterprise (SE) clients across the UAE. The role is focused on developing profitable relationships by offering tailored financial solutions, maintaining portfolio quality, and driving growth through proactive acquisition of new-to-bank clients. The successful candidate will manage both borrowing and non-borrowing relationships, ensuring full compliance with the bankās credit, risk, and regulatory frameworks. This role requires a strong mix of business acumen, credit expertise, and relationship management skills to deepen client engagement and maximize wallet share.

Key responsibilities
- Manage an assigned portfolio of Small Enterprise clients, ensuring relationship profitability and portfolio quality
- Identify, acquire, and onboard new-to-bank clients through proactive market engagement and referrals
- Act as the primary relationship owner for assigned clients, delivering high-quality service and tailored financial solutions
- Cross-sell the bankās full suite of products, including trade finance, deposits, loans, and digital banking services
- Conduct annual and periodic credit facility reviews, ensuring compliance with internal credit policies
- Evaluate client needs to recommend appropriate credit structures and mitigate associated risks
- Monitor account conduct, analyze financials, and identify potential risk indicators for timely intervention
- Ensure all KYC, AML, and compliance standards are fully met and documented
- Prepare and present credit proposals with detailed financial and risk analyses to internal credit committees
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, including credit, operations, and legal teams, to support client requirements
- Maintain control aspects such as documentation, client visits, stock inspections, and market feedback
- Contribute to achieving branch and regional business targets through proactive sales and service management
- Support the professional development of supporting staff (SSOs) and foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Regularly identify and upgrade eligible SE clients to Middle Enterprise (ME) category based on growth and performance
- Provide accurate weekly reporting on portfolio status, pipeline progress, and market opportunities
Experience & skills
- Minimum 4 years of banking experience, preferably in SME, commercial, or business banking segments within the UAE or international markets
- Strong background in relationship management, credit structuring, and trade finance
- Proven track record in achieving business growth targets and managing client portfolios profitably
- Sound understanding of credit assessment, risk management, and regulatory compliance requirements
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in banking systems and MS Office applications
- Ability to manage multiple client relationships and deliver high service standards under pressure
- Strong teamwork, organizational, and analytical capabilities
