Job description
The Legal Counsel (GCC Focus) role is based in Dubai and supports the organisationās legal operations across multiple GCC jurisdictions, working closely with the Legal Director to implement legal strategy and manage a broad portfolio of legal matters. The role spans Employment and HR advisory, disputes and litigation management, commercial contracting, and regulatory advisory across the UAE, KSA, and wider GCC. Responsibilities include drafting and maintaining standardized employment contracts across GCC markets, advising HR teams on terminations, disciplinary actions, and employee disputes, and ensuring company policies remain compliant with evolving labour laws. The role supports the design and enforceability of regional incentive schemes and compensation structures, implements dispute, litigation, and regulatory inquiry strategies, and acts as the primary liaison with external counsel across GCC jurisdictions. The Legal Counsel conducts internal investigations, fact-finding, and evidence collection, manages complaints and claims to mitigate business and reputational risk, and drafts, reviews, and negotiates a wide range of commercial agreements including vendor contracts, partnership agreements, technology licensing, and service agreements. The role also involves developing standardized contract templates, supporting high-value and strategic negotiations, monitoring regulatory developments in real estate, mortgage, and financial sectors, and providing day-to-day cross-border legal advisory support to business units in a fast-paced FinTech and PropTech environment.

Key responsibilities
- Draft, update, and maintain standardized employment contracts across GCC jurisdictions
- Advise HR teams on terminations, disciplinary actions, employee disputes, and labour law compliance
- Ensure internal company policies comply with evolving employment and labour laws across GCC markets
- Support the design and local enforceability of regional incentive schemes and compensation structures
- Implement and manage strategies for disputes, litigation, and regulatory inquiries
- Act as the primary liaison with external legal counsel across UAE, KSA, and other GCC jurisdictions
- Conduct internal fact-finding, investigations, and evidence collection for litigation and regulatory matters
- Manage complaints and legal claims to mitigate commercial, legal, and reputational risk
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including vendor contracts, partnership agreements, technology licensing, and service agreements
- Support high-value contracts and strategic negotiations led by the Legal Director
- Develop and maintain standardized contract templates for routine legal and commercial operations
- Monitor and summarize regulatory updates in real estate, mortgage, and financial sectors across the GCC
- Proactively flag regulatory developments and compliance risks to the Legal Director
- Provide day-to-day legal advisory support to business units to ensure cross-border regulatory compliance
Experience & skills
- Demonstrate 3ā4 years of post-qualification experience supporting legal operations across multiple GCC jurisdictions, with UAE and KSA experience strongly preferred
- Hold a license to practice law in a common law jurisdiction such as the UK, US, or Australia and/or a GCC jurisdiction, with practical application in UAE and KSA
- Be fully fluent in English and Arabic, with the ability to review and advise on dual-language legal documents
- Be based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates
- Demonstrate the ability to manage legal matters across different GCC legal systems within fast-paced, high-pressure environments
