The Associate Director of Pricing (Grocery E-commerce & Dynamic Pricing Strategy) at Careem Quik in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is responsible for owning the strategic pricing roadmap for essential grocery items across multiple markets, driving growth, customer loyalty, and sustainable margins within a high-frequency retail and e-commerce environment. The role involves building a best-in-class pricing engine from the ground up, transitioning from manual pricing processes to a fully automated, productized pricing ecosystem leveraging data analytics, SQL, Python, R, and algorithmic pricing methodologies. The position sits at the intersection of commercial strategy and product development, requiring deep collaboration with Product and Engineering teams to implement dynamic pricing logic, workflow automation, and scalable systems. The candidate will design and execute experimental frameworks including pricing experiments and A/B testing to quantify price elasticity and consumer sensitivity, using large datasets and data modeling to extract actionable insights. Responsibilities include optimizing commercial performance by balancing competitive pricing and margin optimization, ensuring localized execution across multiple geographical markets, and monitoring daily pricing health through performance analytics. The role demands expertise in revenue management, pricing strategy, and e-commerce pricing within grocery, FMCG, or high-frequency retail sectors, along with the ability to translate complex analytical outputs into strategic recommendations for C-suite stakeholders. - Design and execute long-term pricing strategy for grocery products across multiple markets aligning with regional consumer behavior and business objectives
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to build automated and productized pricing systems replacing manual pricing workflows
- Develop and lead pricing experiments and A/B testing frameworks to measure price elasticity and consumer sensitivity using data analytics
- Optimize commercial performance by balancing market competitiveness with margin optimization in partnership with commercial and category teams
- Oversee execution and localization of pricing strategies across all operating territories ensuring accuracy and consistency
- Monitor daily pricing performance and analytics to identify opportunities for margin expansion and pricing improvements
- Build and implement dynamic pricing models and algorithmic pricing strategies using large datasets and data modeling techniques
- Translate complex data insights into clear strategic recommendations for executive and C-suite stakeholders
Experience & skills
- Demonstrate minimum 8+ years of experience in pricing, revenue management, or strategy within grocery, FMCG, e-commerce, or high-frequency retail sectors
- Exhibit expert-level proficiency in data analytics using SQL, Python, or R for handling large datasets and building elasticity models
- Show proven experience working with product and engineering teams to automate pricing workflows and implement dynamic pricing logic
