Job description
Multidisciplinary design teams on major building, infrastructure and masterplanning projects across the Middle East need someone to keep information flowing, and this Design Manager in Buro Happold's Saudi Project Design Management team does exactly that. Based in Riyadh or Jeddah, you will set responsibilities, priorities and interfaces for each team, then run design coordination meetings and close out actions. BIM coordination and collaborative digital delivery through Revit, BIM 360/ACC and Navisworks are part of daily oversight. Submissions are coordinated for technical assurance and gateway approvals, checked against scope, standards and quality procedures. Project Execution Plans, Design Management Plans, responsibility matrices and design programmes are developed and maintained by you. Programme, budget, risk, opportunities and change are monitored closely, with value engineering and cost validation supported along the way. Clients, consultants and sub-consultants deal with you as a key design interface, and RFP documentation and sub-consultant selection come into the procurement side. Project Leaders and Project Directors rely on clear reports, dashboards and design status updates. Candidates need a relevant degree, 3+ years on Middle East projects within a multidisciplinary consultancy, and commercial awareness of scope, fees and change, with chartership preferred.
