Captain Acquisition Lead role at Careem in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia responsible for driving captain (driver) supply growth and managing end-to-end acquisition operations within the Captain Acquisition & Market Operations team. The role focuses on onboarding and managing third-party logistics (3PL) partners, ensuring captain availability, and aligning supply with Careem’s regional growth and operational demand across mobility and delivery services. The position acts as a central coordination point for supplier relationships, captain onboarding, training coordination, and operational readiness to ensure service quality and market coverage. Responsibilities include initiating and managing onboarding processes with logistics suppliers, enforcing fulfilment and supply targets, and ensuring 3PL partners meet contractual commitments aligned with business growth plans. The role involves managing relationships with external vendors and logistics partners to build long-term collaboration and trust while resolving operational issues across captains and suppliers. The Captain Acquisition Lead also oversees distribution of captain onboarding materials such as uniforms and swag, coordinates training initiatives, and ensures smooth operational ramp-up processes. The role requires maintaining structured documentation, tracking acquisition progress, and reporting on supply health metrics. The position leverages analytical capabilities using Excel, Google Sheets, and optionally SQL to monitor supply performance, track KPIs, and support data-driven operational decisions. The role requires strong communication skills, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to operate in fast-paced, high-growth environments while supporting Careem’s mission to scale mobility and delivery services across the Middle East.

Key responsibilities
- Own and lead end-to-end captain acquisition processes including onboarding, coordination, and supply ramp-up activities
- Initiate and manage onboarding conversations with 3PL partners and logistics suppliers to secure supply commitments
- Align captain supply with Careem growth plans and ensure fulfillment of operational supply targets across markets
- Track, monitor, and enforce 3PL performance and fulfillment metrics to ensure supply chain reliability
- Build and maintain strong relationships with logistics providers and vendor partners to support long-term collaboration
- Serve as escalation point for operational issues involving captains, suppliers, and logistics partners and resolve them effectively
- Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and analysis of acquisition progress, supply performance, and operational health metrics
Experience & skills
- Possess 5–7 years of experience in acquisition, logistics, operations, or supply chain roles within fast-paced environments such as food tech, q-commerce, or mobility sectors
- Demonstrate proven experience in last mile operations, supplier management, or vendor management within logistics or mobility platforms
- Demonstrate strong communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to coordinate across internal and external partners
- Demonstrate proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets for operational analysis, reporting, and supply tracking
- Demonstrate familiarity with SQL as a plus for data analysis and operational reporting
- Demonstrate analytical mindset with ability to interpret supply metrics, KPIs, and operational performance data
- Demonstrate experience leading cross-functional projects independently in dynamic and fast-moving operational environments
