Job description
The Hygiene Officer at Address Hotels + Resorts, Emaar Hospitality Group, is responsible for ensuring the highest level of sanitation and hygiene standards across all food and work areas within the property. The role ensures that all food served to guests and employees is free from microbiological, chemical, and physical contamination, and that work areas conform to minimum hygiene and sanitation requirements. The officer will monitor, enforce, and maintain hygiene protocols, train staff on proper procedures, supervise teams where required, manage complaint resolution and service recovery, achieve business goals including financial and non-financial targets, and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to set quality standards. The role requires adherence to health, safety, and food handling regulations while enhancing overall guest satisfaction and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with sanitation and hygiene standards across all food preparation and service areas
- Monitor work areas to guarantee adherence to minimum hygiene and sanitation requirements
- Prevent microbiological, chemical, and physical contamination of all food served to guests and employees
- Supervise and train staff on hygiene and sanitation procedures
- Deliver constructive feedback and coaching to staff on and off the job
- Resolve guest complaints and ensure adequate service recovery
- Ensure completion of projects on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards
- Achieve business goals including financial and non-financial targets
- Identify opportunities for cost efficiency and implement improvements
- Communicate effectively across all levels of the business unit
- Maintain records of hygiene compliance and training activities
- Stay up to date with industry standards and regulatory requirements for food safety
- Promote a culture of hygiene excellence and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with management and other departments to uphold quality and service standards
- Ensure guest satisfaction by maintaining superior hygiene and safety practices
Experience & skills
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role within a 5-star hospitality industry
- Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience for team management
- Degree in Microbiology or equivalent certification
- Training skills and relevant certification
- Strong command of written and spoken English; additional language is an asset
- Minimum of a high school diploma; College degree in Hotel Management or related field preferred
- Proficiency in enforcing sanitation, hygiene, and food safety standards
- Ability to monitor and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Capability to supervise, mentor, and train staff
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence
- Experience in managing hygiene-related projects and achieving quality targets
- Ability to handle complaints professionally and implement service recovery measures
