Job description
The role functions as a senior leadership position responsible for driving SME client acquisition across Working Capital, Trade Finance, Commercial Loans, Merchant POS Loans, Asset-Backed Lending, and Supply Chain Finance portfolios. Reporting to the Vice President & Head of SME Acquisition, the position requires deep expertise in SME finance and proven sales leadership to build high-performing acquisition teams. It mandates designing and executing innovative acquisition strategies through direct channels, partnerships, and networks, maintaining connections with business owners, referral partners, brokers, and internal stakeholders, and overseeing end-to-end onboarding ensuring efficiency, compliance, and client satisfaction. Responsibilities include conducting market analysis to identify opportunities, threats, and emerging trends to refine sales strategies, tracking and reporting KPIs such as acquisition rates, conversion ratios, and portfolio growth, and presenting insights to senior management. The mandate also includes ensuring adherence to internal policies and regulatory guidelines, promoting a strong risk management culture, and applying in-depth knowledge of SME lending solutions including trade products, supply chain finance, commercial loans, asset-backed loans, and capex loans. The role further requires leadership capabilities to mentor and develop acquisition teams, inspire performance, and foster collaboration while applying a data-driven approach to sales management and performance optimization.

Key responsibilities
- Design and execute strategies to acquire SME clients using direct channels, partnerships, and networks
- Develop and maintain relationships with business owners, referral partners, brokers, and internal stakeholders to maximize acquisition and cross-sell opportunities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of client acquisition professionals to build a high-performance culture
- Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities, threats, and emerging trends and refine acquisition strategies accordingly
- Oversee the end-to-end SME client onboarding process to ensure efficiency, compliance, and client satisfaction
- Track and report KPIs including acquisition rates, conversion ratios, and portfolio growth and present insights to senior management
- Ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory guidelines and promote strong risk management practices
Experience & skills
- Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field with MBA or professional certifications considered advantageous
- Possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in sales, business development, or client acquisition within SME and commercial lending
- Demonstrate exposure to banking or financial services with a focus on relationship management or financial services sales
- Apply in-depth knowledge of SME lending solutions including trade products, supply chain finance, commercial loans, asset-backed loans, and capex loans
- Utilize a data-driven approach to performance monitoring and strategy refinement
- Exhibit strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building capabilities
