Job description
The Project Manager for Telco Services at Red Hat is responsible for end-to-end planning, governance, and execution of professional services engagements across telecom clients in the Middle East and Africa. This role ensures delivery excellence by applying project management standards to manage large, complex portfolios and multiple concurrent projects. Responsibilities include maintaining delivery momentum in fast-paced environments, aligning project scope and deliverables with contractual commitments, managing project financials including revenue recognition and P&L reporting, identifying and mitigating risks, and fostering cross-team collaboration. The manager acts as a liaison between customers, partners, and internal teams, ensuring transparency, accountability, and timely escalation of issues. The role emphasizes virtual and remote team leadership, continuous improvement, and strategic resourcing to optimize project outcomes.

Key responsibilities
- Own end-to-end project delivery for Telco Services engagements, including scope definition, work planning, milestone tracking, and successful closure.
- Maintain steady delivery momentum in complex, fast-moving telecom customer environments with shifting priorities and tight timelines.
- Collaborate with delivery architects and consultants to manage customer expectations, requirements, and delivery commitments, yielding consistent results.
- Ensure project scope, deliverables, and timelines remain aligned with customer contractual commitments and Red Hat business priorities.
- Manage project financials across assigned engagements, including revenue recognition tracking, cost monitoring, forecast accuracy, and timely reporting of project P&L to the Telco Services lead.
- Identify, track, and mitigate project risks and interdependencies across active Telco Services engagements.
- Manage stakeholder communication across customer, partner, and internal Red Hat teams; promote transparency and proactive coordination throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Lead cross-functional meetings and foster teamwork; drive escalation and resolution of issues.
- Apply expertise in professional services delivery to support planning, execution, and governance of Telco Services projects and initiatives.
- Provide regular delivery status reporting to the Telco Services lead and relevant senior stakeholders, including escalation of risks and blockers.
- Develop resourcing strategies to ensure optimum support for projects and for the day-to-day operational activities.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance delivery processes and governance practices.
- Support organizational objectives by mentoring junior project staff and promoting best practices in project management across the Telco Services team.
Experience & skills
- 5+ years of project/program management experience, including large-scale, complex projects or portfolio management.
- Thorough understanding of project and program management techniques and methods.
- Excellent facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to engage at all organizational levels.
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills with consultative and influencing capabilities.
- Ability to innovate and adapt under changing conditions in a dynamic matrix organization.
- Experience in virtual and remote team leadership, including distributed stakeholder engagement.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, resource allocation, and financial oversight for projects.
- Experience with project and portfolio management tools to track progress, risks, and resources.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, IT, management, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- Project management or program management certification is a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, business acumen, and industry knowledge relevant to telecom services.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining quality, timeliness, and adherence to contractual commitments.
