Job description
The Senior Specialist – Transport and Distribution at Red Sea Global operates within the Operations Division under Supply Chain and Logistics, overseeing the end-to-end movement of goods across multiple transportation modes including air, ocean, and trucking. The role is responsible for optimizing freight costs, ensuring compliance with transportation regulations, customs requirements, and trade laws, and delivering efficient, timely, and cost-effective logistics solutions. The position develops and implements transportation strategies to maximize service levels while minimizing transit times and costs, manages carrier and vendor relationships, negotiates contracts and rates, leverages transportation management systems to enhance visibility and efficiency, monitors transportation KPIs, mitigates transportation-related risks such as delays and disruptions, supports clients with routing and regulatory guidance, prepares MIS reports, adheres to safety, quality, and environmental management policies, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives aligned with international best practices, productivity enhancement, and cost reduction objectives.

Key responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate transportation operations including shipment scheduling, tracking, and carrier management
- Negotiate transportation contracts and rates with carriers to secure competitive pricing and reliable service
- Analyze freight and transportation costs to identify and implement cost reduction opportunities
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, customs requirements, and applicable trade laws
- Provide transportation logistics guidance to internal and external clients including routing and regulatory considerations
- Develop and implement strategic transportation plans to optimize service levels, transit times, and cost efficiency
- Monitor, track, and analyze transportation KPIs to drive operational efficiency and performance improvement
- Identify and mitigate transportation-related risks such as delays, disruptions, and compliance issues
- Leverage transportation management systems and logistics technology solutions to streamline operations and enhance shipment visibility
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to transportation teams to foster a collaborative and results-driven environment
- Follow functional policies, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure controlled and consistent operations
- Prepare accurate and timely MIS statements and logistics reports in line with corporate standards
- Apply safety, quality, and environmental management policies to ensure compliance and responsible operations
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on process optimization, productivity improvement, and cost reduction
Experience & skills
- Hold a recognized degree in Business, Analytics, or Data Management; MBA preferred
- Possess a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in supply chain and logistics operations
- Demonstrate experience in transportation operations and logistics management
- Maintain strong working relationships with carriers and vendors
