Job description
The Senior Expeditor role within Woodâs Oil, Gas & New Energies business supports a fast-track EPsCa project involving FEED, detailed design, procurement, construction, and commissioning assistance for an existing asset restoration and capacity upgrade program in Southern Iraq. The position is full-time and office-based in the UAE, requiring end-to-end expediting oversight across supplier production schedules, fabrication progress, inspection and testing plans, shipping arrangements, vendor documentation (drawings, data sheets, QA/QC documentation, test reports), and adherence to contractual and technical requirements. Responsibilities span monitoring all purchase orders from placement through delivery, coordinating with Procurement, Engineering, Construction, Logistics, and QA/QC, escalating delays, driving supplier recovery plans, maintaining expediting logs, fabrication status charts and delivery forecasts, preparing weekly/monthly expediting reports, aligning material readiness with project milestones, participating in vendor kick-off and pre-inspection meetings, and supporting development of procurement schedules and material tracking tools. The role requires strong knowledge of international logistics, Incoterms, export/import rules, ERP systems, project management tools, and material tracking systems, alongside the ability to read engineering drawings, enforce EPCM procedures, ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and support closure of non-conformances. The role is embedded in an EPCM environment delivering engineering, procurement services, and construction assistance for oil & gas facilities upgrade including pipeline development, electrification networks, flowlines, debottlenecking, safety/security upgrades, and restoration of CPF1 integrity and operability.

Key responsibilities
- Monitor and track all purchase orders from placement through delivery to ensure compliance with schedules and contractual obligations
- Conduct proactive expediting through supplier visits, calls, and progress reporting to identify delays or risks
- Review supplier production schedules, fabrication progress, inspection and testing plans, and shipping arrangements
- Escalate critical delays and coordinate supplier recovery plans
- Ensure vendor documentation including drawings, data sheets, test reports, and QA/QC documentation is submitted and approved per project requirements
- Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, and Construction teams to align material readiness with project milestones
- Attend project progress meetings and provide expediting status updates and risk assessments
- Coordinate with logistics regarding packing, transport, customs documentation, and delivery sequencing
- Maintain expediting logs, vendor progress reports, fabrication status charts, and delivery forecasts
- Prepare weekly and monthly expediting reports for project management
- Track and drive closure of supplier non-conformances
- Identify schedule threats early and recommend mitigation strategies
- Support the development and maintenance of procurement schedules and material tracking tools
- Participate in vendor kick-off meetings and pre-inspection meetings to communicate schedule requirements
- Verify supplier adherence to contractual, technical, and quality expectations
- Interface with QA/QC inspectors to coordinate inspections, witness points, and release activities
- Ensure compliance with EPCM procedures, safety requirements, and regulatory standards
Experience & skills
- Hold a diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field
- Bring 7â12+ years of expediting experience within EPCM, oil & gas, mining, power, infrastructure, or heavy industrial projects
- Demonstrate strong understanding of procurement, engineering workflows, and fabrication processes
- Possess knowledge of international logistics, Incoterms, and export/import requirements
- Show proficiency in project management tools, ERP systems, and material tracking software
- Be capable of reading engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Exhibit strong vendor management, negotiation capability, and schedule-driven focus
- Display high urgency, accountability, analytical capability, and reporting skills
- Be able to work under pressure within fast-paced multi-project environments
