Job description
The International Security Analyst is a senior specialist responsible for leading QatarEnergyâs global security program, including the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and management systems across international operations. The role focuses on assessing and mitigating security risks, producing actionable intelligence, and supporting executive decision-making to ensure the safety of personnel and protection of assets in complex and high-risk global environments. The analyst will lead intelligence-driven risk assessments, provide strategic security guidance, and coordinate with internal stakeholders and international partners to uphold the organizationâs resilience against geopolitical, criminal, and terrorist threats. This position requires advanced analytical capability, situational awareness of global security dynamics, and the ability to communicate concise, actionable insights to leadership under pressure.

Key responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of QatarEnergyâs International Security Program, including policies, procedures, and management systems.
- Conduct comprehensive security and threat assessments across global operations to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation measures.
- Monitor and analyze geopolitical developments, terrorism, organized crime, and regional instability affecting QatarEnergyâs international footprint.
- Produce timely and actionable intelligence reports to support executive and operational decision-making.
- Advise company leadership and emergency response teams on threat scenarios, crisis response strategies, and personnel protection measures.
- Coordinate with local and international law enforcement, intelligence, and security agencies to enhance situational awareness and response capabilities.
- Support risk mitigation strategies for overseas projects and business activities in high-risk or politically sensitive environments.
- Develop and maintain a security risk matrix and ensure alignment with corporate risk management frameworks.
- Lead or support security incident investigations, ensuring lessons learned are integrated into future planning.
- Provide security briefings, risk updates, and awareness sessions for QatarEnergy staff traveling or stationed abroad.
- Contribute to business continuity and emergency response planning through intelligence-led risk forecasting.
- Regularly review and enhance international security policies to reflect emerging threats and global best practices.
- Advise on physical security and cyber-security overlaps impacting international operations.
Experience & skills
- Bachelorâs degree in International Relations, Political Science, Security Studies, Intelligence Analysis, or a related discipline (Masterâs degree preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in security or intelligence analysis, with a focus on international operations or high-risk regions.
- Deep understanding of global geopolitical dynamics, terrorism trends, transnational threats, and political risk assessment.
- Proficiency in intelligence analysis tools, methodologies, and open-source intelligence (OSINT) techniques.
- Proven ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable intelligence and recommendations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present findings to senior leadership and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in developing and implementing corporate or governmental security programs and management systems.
- Demonstrated experience supporting emergency or crisis response operations in international contexts.
- Ability to collaborate with government, private sector, and international security agencies.
- Strong ethical standards, discretion, and resilience under pressure.
