The Logging While Drilling (LWD) Remote Operations Engineer role is a field operations position based in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, within a 24/7 remote drilling operations environment supporting real-time drilling and evaluation activities. The role is responsible for providing continuous monitoring and evaluation of drilling and well parameters to ensure safe, efficient, and optimized drilling operations while minimizing non-productive time (NPT). The engineer supports remote job execution by controlling and managing remote drilling operations, providing technical support, and handling service requests related to LWD product portfolios and associated software systems. The position involves collecting, validating, and storing surface and downhole drilling data in structured databases and preparing operational deliverables for clients and internal stakeholders. The engineer participates in the full job cycle management process, contributing to service delivery performance and operational efficiency improvements. The role requires mentoring junior engineers to enhance technical competencies through structured processes and procedures, ensuring continuous development of operational capability within the team. The engineer provides technical support for LWD tools, drilling evaluation systems, and associated software platforms while ensuring adherence to Baker Hughes HSE policies, code of conduct, and compliance requirements. The position operates in a shift-based, 24/7 service environment requiring strong analytical capabilities, real-time decision-making skills, and the ability to identify, analyze, and resolve technical drilling issues. The role is part of Baker Hughesâ remote operations team focused on digital innovation, drilling optimization, and safe execution of complex oilfield operations.

Key responsibilities
- Provide real-time monitoring and evaluation of drilling and well parameters to ensure safe, efficient, and optimized drilling operations
- Collect, validate, and store surface and downhole drilling data in databases and prepare operational deliverables for stakeholders
- Participate in job cycle management activities to improve service delivery and operational efficiency in remote drilling operations
- Provide technical support for Logging While Drilling (LWD) product portfolio and associated software applications
- Mentor junior engineers to improve technical competencies through structured processes, procedures, and operational best practices
- Ensure compliance with Baker Hughes HSE policies, safety standards, and code of conduct in all operational activities
- Conduct remote drilling operations support including troubleshooting technical issues and minimizing non-productive time
- Support continuous improvement of processes, procedures, and workflows within 24/7 remote drilling operations team
Experience & skills
- Possess a Bachelorâs degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geology, or Earth Sciences
- Demonstrate minimum 3 years of experience in drilling services or related oilfield operations
- Demonstrate ability to work in a 24/7 shift-based remote operations environment
- Possess strong knowledge of downhole drilling tools and well evaluation technologies
- Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical troubleshooting skills
- Possess experience in drilling data analysis, monitoring, and service delivery operations
- Demonstrate good communication skills in English (verbal and written)
- Demonstrate familiarity with HSE compliance standards and oilfield operational safety practices
