Job description
As part of NVIDIA’s Infrastructure Specialist (NVIS) Solution Architecture team, the Senior Data Center Ethernet Network Engineer will lead the design, architecture, and implementation of advanced data center networks for AI Factory, Cloud, and Enterprise customers under the Plan, Design, & Implement (PDI) framework. The role involves providing Ethernet expertise throughout the sales cycle, building and validating network solutions, automating network operations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize infrastructure for GPU-enabled AI applications. This position requires deep technical skills in Ethernet networking, VXLAN-EVPN, automation tooling, and data center architecture.
Required skills
Key responsibilities
- Provide Ethernet expertise to customers during the sales cycle to design, architect, and test Ethernet networking solutions.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to support server infrastructure builds, accelerated computing workloads, and GPU-enabled AI applications.
- Develop and evaluate DevOps automation scripts for network operations.
- Design network architectures and develop switch configurations.
- Implement and validate network solutions for data centers.
- Engage with clients to analyze network requirements and design next-generation architectures.
- Validate network functionality through simulations.
- Offer ad-hoc knowledge transfers, develop handover materials, and provide deployment support for engagements.
Experience & skills
- 8+ years of experience in networking fundamentals, Ethernet switch configuration, TCP/IP stack, and data center architecture.
- Hands-on experience with configuring and troubleshooting VXLAN-EVPN.
- Background in automation tooling such as Ansible, Salt, or Puppet.
- Proactive and able to work independently with strong task prioritization skills.
- Experience providing technical expertise in customer-facing roles.
- B.Sc. in Engineering or CCNP certification (or equivalent experience).
- Preferred: Linux certifications, CCIE/JNCIE/ACE-E in Data Centers, Cumulus OS experience, Infiniband certifications.
