Job description
The Senior Observability Consultant (Splunk IT Ops & Observability) is responsible for driving adoption and optimization of Splunk platforms for enterprise customers in complex IT environments. The role involves strategic execution of long-term customer engagements including regular meetings, documentation, and delivering measurable outcomes that maximize ROI. The consultant leads adoption, optimization, and integration of Splunk IT Ops & Observability solutions, provides high-quality technical guidance on enterprise architecture, configuration, and optimization work, and acts as a dedicated point of contact for adoption, optimization, customer success, and technical escalations. The consultant advocates for customer needs internally, collaborates across CSM, RSM, SE, PS, and other teams, drives high CSAT scores, product upsell and expansion, and contributes to internal process, collateral, and tool development. This role demands proficiency in Splunk ITSI administration, technical consulting, big-data analytics, enterprise applications, scripting languages, application development, and analytical tools, as well as strong customer-facing and operational skills.

Key responsibilities
- Strategically execute adoption and optimization activities in long-term customer engagements, including meetings, documentation, and outcomes reporting
- Lead all aspects of adoption, optimization, and integration of Splunk IT Ops & Observability solutions into customer business architectures
- Provide high-quality technical guidance on enterprise architecture, configuration, and optimization in complex environments with DevOps integration
- Advocate for customers by communicating key initiatives and discreet needs across the internal Splunk ecosystem
- Serve as dedicated point of contact for customer needs including adoption, optimization, customer success, and technical escalations
- Continually engage and share information with CSM, RSM, SE, PS, and other internal stakeholders
- Execute practice key performance indicators including scaling productivity, process creation, collateral and tool development, driving high CSAT scores, product upsell and expansion, and internal training
- Share knowledge across groups to enhance practice capabilities and service delivery
Experience & skills
- 3+ years demonstrable experience administering and using Splunk ITSI
- Significant experience in technical consulting or big-data analytics
- Demonstrable understanding of common enterprise applications
- Proficiency in statistical and analytical modeling
- Experience with scripting languages such as Bash
- Experience in application development with Java, Python, and .NET
- Experience with databases and analytical tools
- Meaningful software industry experience in IT systems, enterprise or infrastructure management, application development and management, security, and/or analytics
- Ability to act as trusted advisor and product specialist for assigned customers
- Ability to thoughtfully manage strategic accounts requiring high-level partnership, negotiation, and conflict resolution
- Superior written and oral communication skills
- Strong customer-facing skills to instill confidence and provide guidance towards resolution
- Highly developed operational skills for troubleshooting, problem solving, and resolution
- Ability to balance competing priorities with customer demands
