Job description
The Head of Marketing – Energy Events role based in Dubai, UAE is responsible for leading world-class marketing strategy and execution for large-scale B2B energy exhibitions and conferences. The role focuses on developing and implementing integrated marketing strategies that drive exhibitor, visitor, delegate, and speaker acquisition across the event portfolio. The position works closely with the Managing Director and senior stakeholders, including government entities, commercial directors, and event directors, to align marketing campaigns with overall business and event objectives. The role includes ownership of marketing P&L for the event campaign cycle and requires managing third-party partnerships including barter agreements and industry associations. The Head of Marketing will oversee creation of conference collateral, website updates, sponsorship materials, and lead generation campaigns while ensuring alignment with commercial strategy and event timelines. The position is responsible for designing and executing visitor growth and retention strategies, competitor benchmarking, and disruptive marketing campaigns across the event landscape. The role includes full ownership of digital marketing strategy including social media campaigns, programmatic advertising, geo-fencing, retargeting, influencer marketing, SEO, display advertising, and paid media execution across the entire event lifecycle. The candidate will collaborate with PR agencies to manage domestic and international communications, ensure MENA-wide coverage, and support hybrid event solutions with digital integration. The role also involves managing data strategy including database cleansing, segmentation, acquisition, and gap analysis, while ensuring GDPR and data protection compliance. The Head of Marketing leads and develops a marketing team, sets KPIs and bonus structures, and ensures high-performance execution across all marketing functions while fostering stakeholder relationships across government, media, regulators, and industry associations.

Key responsibilities
- Create, develop, and implement comprehensive marketing strategies for B2B energy events covering exhibitor, visitor, delegate, and speaker acquisition across the full event lifecycle
- Manage marketing P&L for event campaign cycles and ensure financial accountability and performance reporting to senior leadership
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with government entities, industry associations, media partners, and third-party organizations including barter agreements
- Oversee creation and delivery of conference marketing collateral, sponsorship materials, exhibition content, and continuous website updates aligned with event timelines
- Design and execute lead generation, visitor acquisition, and retention campaigns to maximize attendance growth and audience engagement
- Conduct competitor analysis and develop disruptive marketing strategies to position events competitively within the regional and global market
- Plan and execute integrated digital marketing campaigns including social media, programmatic advertising, geo-fencing, retargeting, influencer marketing, SEO, and paid media
- Lead marketing team management including KPI setting, performance tracking, mentorship, and development of marketing managers and executives
Experience & skills
- Possess at least 5 years of management-level experience in events marketing or B2B media environments
- Hold a degree qualification in marketing, business, or related field
- Demonstrate strong experience in marketing strategy development and execution for large-scale B2B exhibitions and conferences
- Possess strong knowledge of social media marketing, digital marketing strategy, and integrated campaign management
- Demonstrate experience managing stakeholder relationships including government entities, trade associations, and senior executives
- Demonstrate understanding of GDPR and data protection regulations in marketing and database management
- Demonstrate experience in marketing P&L management, budgeting, and financial performance tracking
- Possess strong leadership experience managing and developing marketing teams in fast-paced event environments
