Job description
The Content Translator (Turkish Speaker) will work on website content, translating from English to Turkish following translation guidelines, ensuring content accessibility for customers. The role involves translating website, documentation, and software content and keeping translations up to date year-round. The translator will follow up on various projects, prepare documents, upload content through platforms such as GitHub, proofread documents post-layout, occasionally adjust layout, and support the marketing department in day-to-day missions. Proficiency in IT tools and comfort with code/HTML in texts is required, along with experience in translation and strong command of English and Turkish. Knowledge of Transifex, GitHub, InDesign, and additional Central Asian languages are considered advantageous.

Key responsibilities
- Translate website content, documentation, and software text from English to Turkish, ensuring adherence to translation guidelines, accuracy, tone, and brand voice.
- Maintain and update all translations across the website, software, and documentation throughout the year to ensure content remains current, relevant, and culturally appropriate.
- Coordinate and manage multiple translation projects simultaneously, including preparation of documents, uploading of content via GitHub, and tracking project progress.
- Proofread all translated content post-layout to ensure correctness in spelling, grammar, formatting, and consistency with original content and style guides.
- Occasionally perform content layout adjustments using InDesign or other design tools to ensure proper display, readability, and user experience across digital platforms.
- Collaborate with the marketing department to support campaigns, promotions, and communication strategies, ensuring Turkish content aligns with broader marketing objectives.
- Work closely with software and development teams to translate in-app text and technical documentation, including handling basic HTML or code-related content embedded within texts.
- Monitor translation quality and consistency, providing feedback and recommendations for improvements, and adapting content to suit the Turkish-speaking audience.
Experience & skills
- Minimum of 2 years professional translation experience with proven expertise in English to Turkish translations.
- Fluent in English, with excellent speaking and comprehension abilities to accurately understand source content for translation.
- Fluent in Turkish, with perfect reading, writing, and spoken abilities to produce high-quality translations.
- Possess a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in languages or an equivalent qualification demonstrating formal training in translation or linguistic skills.
- Proficiency with IT tools, including document management software, translation platforms such as Transifex, code repositories such as GitHub, and design tools like InDesign.
- Comfortable working with digital content that may include HTML and other code snippets, ensuring accurate translation without breaking formatting or functionality.
- Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, prioritize multiple tasks, and handle projects with minimal supervision.
- Experience in fast-paced, startup-like environments is preferred, along with adaptability, flexibility, quick learning, and a proactive approach to contribute to team and company culture.
- Additional language skills, particularly in Central Asian languages, are considered advantageous for broader multilingual content support.
