Job description
The Control & Instrumentation Engineer at Duqm Power Company will be responsible for corrective and preventive maintenance of instrumentation and control systems to ensure uninterrupted utility supply. The role involves troubleshooting Siemens control systems (WinCC, AS400 PLC, CMS), conducting system calibration, executing preventive maintenance schedules, managing relocations and installations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities
- Respond to faults and failures in instrumentation & control panels through the work order system.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and correct faults on-site and replace components as necessary.
- Test, calibrate, and reinstall repaired electronic, electrical, and mechanical instrumentation.
- Troubleshoot Siemens Simatic WinCC, AS400 PLC, and Condition Monitoring Systems.
- Feed required information by Work Order system through service reports.
- Perform preventive maintenance including signal testing, function tests, and parts replacement.
- Refer major maintenance needs to the Supervisor for scheduling.
- Review spare parts and consumables for preventive maintenance optimization.
- Relocate and install new instruments, ensuring proper functioning and commissioning.
- Carry out modifications, logic checks, and calibration of shutdown systems.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, Permit to Work, and LOTO systems.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities in systems, processes, and practices.
Experience & skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Control & Instrumentation, Automation Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial maintenance, power plant, or process plant operations.
- Experience with Siemens control systems (Simatic WinCC, AS400 PLC, CMS).
- Proficiency in English or Arabic.
- Computer literacy with ERP systems and Microsoft tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word).
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and keep accurate records.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and result orientation skills.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards, Permit to Work, and LOTO systems.
